I mean teens sometimes tend to learn faster than adults, but some parents keep on insisting that its not yet the right time. So when do you think is it best to earn to drive?

I started driving when I was 13. Then again, Iived in the country. I think you should start when you feel confident enough. I feel it is better to start young, I mean, driving is really important and the more experienced you are, the safer you will be. If you have stubborn parents, remind them that the more frequent you drive, the better driver you will become. I wouldn't depend on driver's ed alone. Being able to get out there (with a licensed driver) helps a lot!

It depends on the legal age of the country in which you live.

I got my (US) driver's permit when I was 15 and license when I was 16. But in the country in which I live now, Switzerland, you are only eligible to learn once you reach 18.

It's really up to the law, the maturity of the person learning and the resources of their parents. I had no problem learning how to drive so 15 is probably a good age to learn.

i personally think the age should be 18 in my state its now 16 for a permit 17 to get a license,

teens are to reckless and careless. they shouldnt be driving. many car crashes are caused by teens not paying attention. show boating for friends playing with make up or radio or on the cell phone. in all crashes speed was a factor and in alot os was drugs or alcohol

the driving age should be over 21

driving is a privilege not a right

I think to start the basics like 13 or 14. I started on Suday's at 13 in abondoned parking lots. Obviously to young for a permit to drive on the road. We took our time and by the time i could get a permit i wasn't scared and could start right on the open road

i think when they can get there L plats under the law is best but then it does not mean they have a right to have a car after just that they can do some driving....

if you think they are OK then let them if not then do not let them but let them get the licences as it helps latter on for everything from id to everything in there life
