went to YAHOO groups was looking for help for parents of special needs children with ADHD that were premies of 22 week gestation, but i came across a site speaking of micr-premies. What exactly is a micro-premie? Would my son who was 22 weeks gestation and birth weight of 1lb 6.2oz qualify?

Im dumb fd bc ped says shes too social for this, but she constantly doing weird stuff. shell jerk her head sometimes, like she has a tick and shes in a daze. shell run down the hall, making a weird noise and ram into door or couch and do this until we stop her. shell try to pronounce a few words but her syllables are very long, and out of the blue shell make querky monitone sounds until we ask her to quit, it drives us crazy.its like she has a hearing problem. but she hears us fine, yet sometimes we cant get her attn, shes in a daze. shes ritualistic with her food or toy & lines up in row, but by groups of food, shell wave hands franticly when frustrated,& easily becomes frust., she loves people & will want anyone to hold her or hug her, yet she smiles at odd times, even when in trouble, shes intelligent & plays fine.,can easily do puzzles, but cant say abc or repeat a word that I try to work with her,hard to get focus when reading book, but can get attn if sing to her shes not norm

I was talking to my cousin the other night. Her son is 5 and was recently diagnosed with Aspergers. I mentioned to her that my 18 month old son is obsessed with ceiling fans. She was surprised to hear it because apparently her son is also obsessed with them....she had heard that many autistic children liked fans. I got to looking online and found several accounts of parents who were describing their autistic children's interests and behaviors, and I was surprised at some of the similarities with my sons interests. I never thought anything was wrong with the was he acted though, after all he's just a kid. He LOVES ceiling fans, turning on and off lights, and sometimes he crawls along rubbing his head on the floor. Are these really abnormal behaviors? My son is the most social kid I've ever seen. He tried desperately to get people's attention so he can interact with them. Is this actually something to worry about?

i called my doctors office to schedual my first prenatal appointment and they said that they couldnt see me until im at least 10 weeks. Is this normal or so i try to find another doctor?

My baby is 2 months today, and formula fed since birth, however I was in the store today, and was looking at breast pumps, wow they are expensive. I am really thinking about trying to bring my milk back. Will the breast pump alone do this? And are the electric ones or manual ones better? I want to strictly pump, can you do this? What is the best pump to buy?

so my ex left me when he found out i was pregnant, he won't talk to me and doesnt want anything to do with the kid. i was told by the doctors and my dad who is a lawyer that i should list him on the birth certificate.... but if he won't sign it, or talk to me, how can i get him on the birth certificate, he knows he IS the father, obviously but doesnt want to have a kid... im in new york state if it matters , so basically how can i get him listed as the father against his will

I have started babysitting this little boy during the week while his mom goes to school. My little sister is graduating from college on Friday and I really want to go, but I would have leave Wednesday and won't be back until Sunday. I told the mother last week that she would need to make other arrangements for her son those 3 days. She told me today that she couldn't find anything to do with him. I really want to go, I haven't had a vacation or a break from my own kids in over 7 years. My sanity really depends on this trip, what do I do? I don't want to leave her "screwed" but I really need this vacation.

Love my daughter, she is only 2. Occasionally she infuriates me ( as all 2 year olds can!)

I dont advocate shouting, but sometimes it just comes out. I dont really smack her, i mostly put her in naughty corner for 3 minutes. But I do occasionally shout at her when she does things that i have repeatedly told her not to do.

Am i a bad parent? Do I need help with parenting? Or do all parents occasionally shout at their children/lose their tempers? Its just that i read a question on here today which more or less indicated that parents that shout arent fit to be parents.

Am i an unfit mother? Please be honest. Thanks

For those of you who have babies who were allergic/ sensitive to something in your breast milk, what were the symptoms? When did they show up? What was it that they were having a reaction too?
I thought my daughter just had baby acne, but now it has spread to her shoulders, tummy, and back. Can they get baby acne that far down, or does it sound like a reaction something I'm consuming?

Every day, a couple times a day I have a stabbing pain in the area of my belly button. I am 25 weeks pregnant and don't know if it could be related. It only lasts for 30-45 seconds but it hurts so bad I want to yell out. Does anyone else get this? Is there any way I can keep it from happening? Or at least make it hurt less.

im 15 and 30 weeks pregnant.. can you imagine how i look. well i live with my boyfriend. and he is 16 years old and he is almost 17 and he is already abusing me and i dont like it at all he does drugs and does everthing thing wrong well to me its wrong because i am pregnant i guess he says im too over protected..and he gets mad when im around him but every night its like nothing happend and he wants to have sex... and some times i dont want to and im fat!!! what do i do cuz he keeps hitting me

I am about 4.5 months pregnant and have signed up for a class at my local hospital in March. I am due at the beginning of May. When do you normally take childbirth classes? Earlier or later or whenever? Do they always show a video at the course? My husband may not be able to watch it!

I am 35 weeks pregnant. I totally forgot and got the birthing class dates wrong so now i missed the class. I am trying to find read on as much relaxation technics to help me through child birth. i would like to give birth naturally if possible but iam opened to medication and medical intervention if needed. what are suggestions for relaxation methods and coping methods. Any suggestions would help. Thank you very much. i would like to know what is very important to a woman to keep calm and concentrated.

My 5 month old just started solids on Friday and I know that right now his milk intake won't change but I was wondering when solids will start to become a greater source of calories and milk becomes secondary? He has always only eaten 4oz at a time, will this amount increase or decrease with him starting solids and getting older?

when i first found out i was pregnant i never had kept track of my menstrual cycle and it was pretty irregular.. id go 2 or 3 months at a time with no period... so when i went to the doctors they told me i was 5 weeks and 6 days pregnant on may 4th... i understand the math behind the 40 week thing goes back to the first day of your last period.. but since i didn't know, and went by measurements, does that mean i should be expecting the baby sooner then 40 weeks? basically im asking would 5 weeks and 6 days prior to may 4th have been the date of conception or do they calculate that with the extra time for the period also? sorry so complicated i could barely understand my own question rereading it but please try to understand it haha i swear it makes sense

I am due on thursday the 13th, i am still in no pain what so ever, no contractions, blah blah. i walk and hike and stretch and am super super active. anyways i was thinking, since she will probably be late, if she could be induced on my birthday, which is the 19th. that would be six days overdue, and im sure she would be fine. she is a big baby already, im 5'10 and my boyfriend is 6'2. anyways, i think this is a quite reasonable request. has anyone been able to choose the day to be induced, after almost a week overdue?
