Every day, a couple times a day I have a stabbing pain in the area of my belly button. I am 25 weeks pregnant and don't know if it could be related. It only lasts for 30-45 seconds but it hurts so bad I want to yell out. Does anyone else get this? Is there any way I can keep it from happening? Or at least make it hurt less.

I'm 8 1/2 months pregnant now and I used to get that bad belly button pain too. My doctor just said that is your skin stretching. it will eventually stop and I really don't know what you can do to prevent it. If it gets to a point you can't take it anymore, ask your doctor. Just know that it is very normal and your stomach will continue to feel like it's stretching beyond it's limits LOL

It is very common as the woman who answered before me said its just your skin stretching. Which obviously hurts... you can try using Palmer's Coco Butter. It helps with your skins elasticity and makes it "easier" for your skin to stretch. An it also helps reduce stretch marks and helps you from getting new ones.

Anyways hope that helps and congratulations on the baby and good luck!!

yes, it's normal I had that too and I was thinking the baby is pulling on the umbilical cord.. I never asked my midwife and the pain went away after few weeks..I'm 31 weeks pregnant now and don't have it anymore

Mine hurt like that with my first pregnancy. It hurt before the "inne" became an "outie" . With later pregnancies it did not hurt.
