I am 10 weeks pregnant and have been with my employer for 6 months. It is a very small company and I am the first person to hold my position. Also, as strange as this may seem, I will be the first one in this company to get pregnant. My boss is a 63 year old veterinarian. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to tell him or what I should say?

I was going to wait until I was 12 weeks but I have to do it sooner because I am having some bleeding so my doctor wants me to come in more frequently and also because by that time I will be on a vacation. When I get back I will be more than 14 weeks. I don't want to wait too long to tell them so that they feel as though I was keeping it from them.

My company is very small as well and the turn over here is very high. I had told him when I was just 8 weeks cause I got morning sickness all day and night where I couldn't even make it to work for 3 months. He was so understanding and now Im 27 weeks and Hes talking to me about after what am I going to do or if im coming back hes really cool. They can't fire you if you have done nothing wrong and you have passed a probation period of 90 days. Tell them maybe they can start looking for a temp now. My pregnancy went by so fast and even now she still can't find a replacement that he put in the paper a couple months ago.

I just want to let you know that I'm pregnant...I'm 12 weeks, you should wait till you're 12 weeks, then you let him know what your expectations are. If you plan on working your regular schedule or if you already have any known limitations etc. Your doctor should have asked you what you did for a living when he told you that you were pregnant. So he could give you your list of dos and don'ts.
