These are just the studies that came about from this drug. Everyone is different. The Short Term effects are the most common with the epidural. Please don't be alarmed by the effects, as these are what's possible but not entirely common. I did have this done with my first and it was someone in training that placed it for me. I was in so much pain I didn't care. I did vomit afterwards but I think it was also the stress involved. I was able to walk soon after and didn't have any complications. Hope this helps.

Go without medication as long as you can manage the pain. I would recommend you discuss this with your doctor and get a birth plan together. With my first pregnancy I opted for the epidural because my labor was induced with pitocin. Pitocin driven contractions are a lot worse. I had no problem with the epidural but everyone is different. Their are side effects with the epidural. With my next birth I plan on going natural but if I can't handle the pain I will get the epidural. It worked wonders for me! Congrats and wish you the best in any decision you make!

I had a c-section with my first child, they attemted to give me a spinal but couldnt find the hole in my spine so they ended up putting me to sleep. When i woke up i was having the wirst migranes in the world and the kept trying to just feed me pain medicine. Finally they figured out what the problem was. they poked a hole in my spinal casing and spinal fluid was leaking out. they fixed the problem and the migranes went away but still to this day i constintly have lower back pain and on occasions i get a sharp shooting pain down my spine. Be very creful. I am pregnant with my second child and if i get to have a vaginal birth i am absolutely not having a spinal

I had a spinal. And I still have a numbness in my right leg at times, like a pinched nerve or something, and a weird numb tight spot on my back once in a while near the site.

lol. Iam the reason doctors carry insurance.

Its nothing that keeps me from wanting to do it again- if thats your question.
