What a good daddy you're going to be! My husband did too, you're just already emotionally connected to the baby. Mommy's saving all her tears for the ultrasound!

It's kind of normal. Depending on the tech, they might not be authorized to tell you if the baby is ok because they're not trained to assess that. If they said it's ok and it wasn't you could sue them, so they won't give much info. I know it's annoying, this happened to me. If you go to your normal OBGYN's office, they should give you more info. I'm not sure if they're allowed to give pics at a hospital (I'm guessing that's where you were because that's where I was when they wouldn't tell me anything). If the supervisor wouldn't give you the pics, then I'm guessing they're not allowed. Don't feel bad! Go to your OBGYN or if that was their office, I'd find a new Dr. or tell you Dr. how they treated you. You could also try going to an ultrasound lab, most of them are great since that's all they do. They gave me pics from just 7 1/2 wks. Good luck and don't worry, everything is probably fine since they didn't have a Dr. tell you otherwise.

I think that my husband may have been more emotional about it than I was too. However after the baby came I cried at everything for like a month. Happy tears, sad tears, tired tears.

I didn't cry when I heard the heartbeat, but I cried when I first saw the baby on the ultrasound. It is a miracle! Life is a miracle.. and there is no reason that someone SHOULDN'T cry. It is an amazing experience. Congratulations!

No, it means that you're going to be a good and caring father. Your girlfriend should knock off the jokes and be thankful that she has a man who can show love for even the tiniest of humans. If you think the ultrasound is emotional, wait until you hold that child for the first time! Blessings to the three of you!

Yes my boyfriend cried when he went with me to find out what we were having. He had never experienced that before with his two other daughters. And when we found out we were having twins he really got emotional. We found out a week ago today and he still looks at the U/S pics and tears up with joy. No you're not weird, most men just try and play the "macho" man and hide it. I thinks its awesome when you show emotion.

I think it is very sensitive of you. She will cry one day. It might not have hit her yet. I use to cry every time I watched a Delivery story on Discovery. Everytime a baby was delivered. Didn't matter if it was natural childbirth with or without epi. or if it was a c-section or if they delivered in a pool.. Everytime I heard that baby cry I cried.

Ur NOT a wimp!! Your g/f should be proud to have you! I WISH my b/f or hubby would have cried during those times or when our child was born. but it was a ho-hum kinda thing. Its a beautiful thing, your first child...and every child after.
