deleted in a steady stream? Some people ask unimportant questions and never get deleted, and brag about that. Meanwhile, children are treated like second-class citizens and denied the opportunity to seek the truth when information is deleted. An idea starts with one person and becomes a majority popular idea only when others are allowed to consider it. Children are not senseless idiots though many treat them that way.

I agree with you!
Children are not dumb!
Many children understand more than most adults.

I for one believe in talking openly about sex, drugs, guns etc.
The more a child is told "NO" in regards to these the more mysterious and fascinating these become to the child and the greater the chances of them experimenting with them.

The more your child knows about these issues the less likely he/she'll be to get into trouble with them.

Einstein was correct...... knowledge is power.

I guess I don't see that happening...I see lots of questions on this site that are posted by children (and some of them scare me to death, to be honest!).

The truth of the matter is that Yahoo has specified that anyone under the age of 13 be signed up on a family account. Not because they think that young people are second-class citizens, just because they want to ensure that parents are involved in what their kids are doing online.

It's entirely possible that the parents are the ones deleting the questions (hopefully to have a subsequent discussion with their kids). It's also possible that the questions you're referring to were in violation of the community guidelines, and were deleted with no regard to the poster's age.

what?

are you asking why young kids aren't allowed on Y! Answers (and their questions get deleted if they try to post them regardless?) Have you seen some of the stuff that's posted here??? Not everything is appropriate for a 10-year-old. If you're a kid and want to know stuff, try the library or ask an adult you know (or use the internet with supervision).

I hadn't noticed that?

But if the kids want to find out, there are plenty of sources available. Like the local library. Or a teacher. Or someone else's parent.

I have no problem with actual facts being disseminated. I do have a problem with old wives tales and dangerous misinformation.

.A lot of these things are age appropriate for a reason. There are plenty of sources to get information if they want it. They are not senseless idiots but they are children and need to be protected where necessary.

I think it's more about Yahoo not wanting to antagonize advertisers and want to keep them happy so they'll spend even more of their advertising dollars here.
