they feel like your baby is "balling up" or sticking out ALOT and it gets really hard. They usually last around a minute. My BH dilated me to a 2! Good Luck!

BH can present different in different women... just like normal contractions we all notice different things. It's all about perception. BH constractions are mild and should cause little if any pain. But they can cause you to feel breathless. You will most likely just notice a tightening of your lower abdomen - it feels like things are being pulled together in there. Sometimes it can cause mild lower back pain.

If you have any other symptoms of pre-term labor, such as changes in discharge, bloody show or spotting, or extreme pressure in your pelvic floor, or if the cotractions come at regular intervals or seem to be more than mile you should contact your OB.

If ever in doubt always check with your doctor- better safe than sorry and sometimes all we pregnant women need is a little re-assurance from the expert. Don't feel silly to call - that is what they get paid for.

Best Regards!

I might be wrong so dont quote me word from word. But i think braxton hicks are real contractions there just not the labor. They feel like contractions but they go away thats why the doctors say try to wait a little before you come to the hositpal i think they say if your contractions are every 5mins for a hour then you know it's the real thing. this is my second to and im 19wks and feel a lil contractions already 2 and im nervous that i will have early or have the braxton hicks to but im just planning to wait it out the 1st time i didny know i was in labor so i hope i can wait it out now that i know what to look for. congrads and i wish you a fast and easy labor

A tightening of the muscles around your abdomen...they can be quite strong contractions but not really painfull. My bump used to go hard as a rock for about 30 seconds at a time . You are about right to start with them at this stage with your second baby. They are just your muscles strengthening in preparation for labour. With my 3 rd baby mine were so powerful that the midwife was sure I was in labour but they didn't hurt at all...she was quite impressed!!lol
When he finally arrived I was only in labour for 2 hours...so they did there job well.

Just a tightening of your ab muscles, like you're doing a sit up that you cant control.

Some times theyre painful, like a stitch in your side, or a pulled muscle, or charlie horse, but mostly theyre like being stuck in the middle of a sit up.

Your belly gets really hard in one spot, or all over.

It feels like a tightening of your abdomen, like period pains in many ways. It can feel like a light vice has gripped you for a few seconds and then releases. Just breathe through it.

Mine were never painful. The best way I can describe them is that they feel like they are external as opposed to real contrationns you feel internally. My belly got really tight and hard, but it always felt like it was on the outside of my stomach. They don't take your breath away like a regular one does either.

Tightening but nothing as strong as contractions but like stong period pains, they stay irregular, and non rhythmic
They can last for ages too but get no worse, if they get worse or become regular go get monitored.

everyone says they dont hurt but sometimes they do even if theres nothing wrong, for me they feel like a tightening of my stomach, really dull aching in my back and a feeling like im constipated(sorry lol), it feels really unbarably uncomfortable and dont feel like period pains at all like some people have described them to me as. hopefully yours wont be as bad if you get them
