Give them shots every 3 months might work for most.
I have heard if you don't have sex then you don't get pregnant. Could be an old wives tale......

They tried that once decades ago. The only things it did were to have girls give up their babies for adoption sometimes against their wishes and make girls feel bad about themselves. Oh, and let the father off scotfree.
What will work is to have comprehensive sex ed in schools with real world information not the ideal world information. People think that if we teach kids about sex they will want to have sex. That's crap. I knew about sex when I was 8. My reaction? It embarrassed the hell out of me. That didn't change much when I had sex ed in school either.
We need to teach kids self-respect and self-esteem, especially girls. I am not saying sex is bad or if you have it, you are bad and have no respect for yourself. What I am saying is that many girls out there think that they are nothing without a guy, and in order to keep that guy, they must sleep with him. That is not the case. Is it nice to have a partner to share things with? Sure. But are you incomplete or less than if you do not have a partner? No. And we need to teach that. Girls also need to be taught that just because he says, "I love you," doesn't mean he does. Boys also need to be taught that girls are not playthings.
Another thing that would help would be good birth control available to teens. Several years ago there was a study done in Europe. I cannot for the life of me remember the country. I want to say Denmark or the Netherlands or somewhere like that. The study followed teen sex and pregnancy rates over several years. Birth control was made available in schools - or more easily obtainable by teens - and the study continued. The results they found were that yes, teen sex went up. A little. I believe it was a single digit percentage. Teen pregnancy, however, went down - by a double digit percentage.
I tried to find a reference to the study, but couldn't find one. I did find this though. Interesting.

That doesn't really eliminate high school pregnancy, does it? It just shifts it around a little bit. Most teenage pregnancies happen because of the false belief of "it won't happen to me". I doubt the threat of going to a different school would make a difference. Besides, we've evolved beyond that point anyway. Remember when girls used to be sent away, not to return until after the baby was born and given up for adoption, with noone the wiser?

I find your question rather vague. Avoiding pregnancy is easy, you use birth control, there are lots of methods available. If you are still at school you should be concentrating on getting an education and not running around screwing people.
If you are already pregnant then it's too late and you have to take the consequences. I still think it's better to have the child adopted out than ruin your young life being a teenage mother.

Thats what happened years ago. My mom graduated high school in '67 and two of the girls she went to school with were "transferred" to all girl schools. And, believe it or not, even girls who attend all-girl schools have sex and get pregnant. I graduated in '96 from an all-girls high school and out of 140 graduating students, 12 were either confirmed pregnant or had already had a baby when we walked down the aisle.

Oh hey...I have an idea! Instead of abstinance only teaching in high school how about teaching kids how to protect themselves from STDs and unwanted pregnancies!!! Maybe handing out free condoms or free birth control!! Just another failing of the Bush administration! :)
Or how about you take respondsiblity for yourself and make an appointment with planned parenthood to get on birth control....its free depending on your income and confidential! Give them a call to find the nearest one to you at 1-800-230-PLAN or visit online at www.plannedparenthood.org :)

Eliminating high school pregnancy can't be done.
Teen-agers already know more about anything than anyone else and they will NEVER have anything like that happen. No girls will deliberately get pregnant, either.

How does that eliminate the pregnancy? The girl is still pregnant.
If you want to reduce teen pregnancy and abortion then support sex education (not the abstinence only stuff either) and make birth control more available.

That's the most retarded thing I have ever heard. The chance of eliminating that is zero to none.
