My daughter wasn't constantly held as a baby, but it seems lately these last 3 months all she wants is for me to hold her ...constantly and if i set her down she starts screaming and throwing a fit like if she was hurt. She will cry so hard she stops breathing for a second and then screams again. I am just curious if there are any suggestions on how to get her to play and sit alone on the floor without me having to constantly hold her.

My son is 9 days old I have been nursing him since birth. And right from the start he prefered my left breast to my right. What can I do to change that. He'll eat from the right but not for long he spits it out. My other problem is I got a pump the day before yesterday and every time I pump I can only get 2-3 oz total. Is this normal for the beginning? I'm clueless this is my first child.

I'm 38 weeks along (10 days from my due date) with my first baby (A boy!). For the last month or so Ive been getting Braxton Hix contractions regularly. Yesterday they started to change though.

Before my contractions went away or faded when I would lay down or walk.

Well what does it mean when they get stronger when you walk and lay down, BUT lose consistency when you sit?

I walk around and lay down and it gets more painful and worse. Then I sit down for 20 minutes and the start to become irregular and not rely painful again.

Only to just kick back up and start hurting badly again when I lay down or walk around for a little while...

Is it just me or is this @$$ backwards?

Its been like this sense yesterday afternoon. I tried to sleep but whenever I lay down it becomes rely rely painful.
Trust me Ive tried ever different position in the book. I spent 10 hours in bed waking up and trying to reposition myself to be able to sleep. Used every pillow and no pillows, nothing helps!

My daughter is very petite and smallest in her classes. This friend of mine that has a daughter the same age likes to hit, alot, and I used to just have her come tell me but now I allow her to hit back once and then come tell me. She did for a while but the other little girl kept hitting her back (shes pretty big for her age too). After that, my daughter says she doesnt want to hit back because its not nice and the girl is her friend.

Well in this situation, maybe it is best if she walks away and tells someone? Im worried about her being bullied in school and if that happens I want her to have a plan BUT like I said shes smaller than the other kids (I was too all throughout school years) so I worry if she hits back she may get hurt badly..

or have you ever even heard of this? I personally am not getting one.. I am 30 weeks and couldn't be more happy. However, a friend of mine told me that her daughter had considered one and she was required to take a class, teaching them exactly what happens to the baby... either preventing them from getting the abortion or from getting pregnant again. I won't go into details, because it truly disturbed me (it was very gruesome)... but what are your thoughts on this? I'm sorry, I typically cringe at the word abortion, but after talking with my friend about this subject, I felt I needed to ask. Do you think requiring a class could prevent abortions?

hi there, my daughter just turned 4 yrs old in Sept. She has been toilet trained (day and night) for years now.. well for having a wee anyway. She will NOT poo on the potty/toilet.

She will only poo in a nappy - we've tried allsorts - taking the nappies away and just making it so she HAS to poo on the toilet, but she just made herself ill and would not leave the sofa and complained of a sore bum etc etc.

We've tried reward charts, bribery lol and now its nearly Xmas we're gonna do a letter as if its from Santa asking her to poo on the toilet etc for a special present.

i've tried singing to her on the toilet, reading her a book to help her relax - she's just not having any of it. I dont want to put too much pressure on her as i know i may escalate the problem further. She is at nursery and i thought she may have one at nursery if she saw the other kids doing it - but so far no progress.

Help!! I'm due another baby in april and dont want to be changing 2 lots of nappies!

would a pill work if you had it just after you were having sex? im really worried cos we (me and my bf) forgot about the pill and about 10 minutes after we started "doing it" we realised i hadnt taken it so i quickly had one but we carried on doing it. i know it takes a bit of time for the pill to work... so now im just SO worried please help. and dont be mean either. i can handle that right now. im gonna take a pregnancy test, although i have done already but we did it pretty recently so the baby wouldnt of developed yet.

I do feel horribly about the raped teeange victims with babies, but I refuse to feel sympathetic for the ones who were unprotected. Are schools doing a great job for students or does parents need to intervene also?

How long should I go without ejaculating before going for a sperm test? I've heard different answers such as 1-2 days, 5-7 days, and "it doesn't make a difference".

Thank you.

She said she didn't want it to "go to waste".
I guess this answers the question that was posted a few weeks ago about how much breastmilk would go for if sold.

What do you think? Would you sell your breastmilk if someone would buy it? Would you buy someone else's breastmilk to feed your baby?

I just found out I am pregnant and was thinking about my job. I have a stressful job. I dont get along with my boss, he is a pain in the *ss. I am always busy at work and when I come home I complaint about everything to my husband.

Would this be not a good thing for my pregnancy? Should I consider stop working?

My little one normally wakes me ~once/night in order to nurse. Occasionally, as of late, she has lasted the whole night (~7pm-6/6:30pm) without her waking me up (via the monitor). It started happening when she got really good at finding her thumb. Anyway, it seems an awfully long time to go without feeding. Should I set my alarm and wake her if she doesn't wake me, or is it ok to just wait until she wakes me? By the way, she's a healthy 14-15 pound gal.
