yes you can adopt if you are not wealthy. my husband and i have adopted a sibling group of 4 and we are not wealthy. also ask your adoption worker about adption assistance. most children qualify. of caourse from state to state it is different. we live in nc. adoption is open to most people and as long as it is not going to put you below poverty, go for it. but make sure you and your family can handle it. good luck and congratulations in advance.

Absolutely.
My mother adopted my two sisters.
All she had to do is show she had a stable job, physcian for the children and herself, a family home enviroment, they checked her crimnal record, she had to have refrence letters too. Good Luck :]
