I just found out I am pregnant and was thinking about my job. I have a stressful job. I dont get along with my boss, he is a pain in the *ss. I am always busy at work and when I come home I complaint about everything to my husband.

Would this be not a good thing for my pregnancy? Should I consider stop working?

This is not good for any part of your life, not just pregnancy.

If your job is really the thing in your life that's causing your stress I would consider getting another job or quitting during your pregnancy. That is, if you are in a financial position that allows it.

Your baby will feel everything you do. Normal stress is one thing but severe stress is another, especially during pregnancy. You don't want it!

Pregnancy can be stressful at the best of times. If you are prone to stress or find it getting to you during your pregnancy you should try something called slow breathing with music.

You listen to beautiful, relaxing music and breathe along with a special breathing track. It's really easy and takes only 15 minutes a day. The music and breathing relax you deep into your diaphragm and babies can really feel it too.

This is so much more effective than any other passive relaxation program. There's a great article on it in the source box below.

Stress is not a good thing for pregnancy. It is up to you and your husband whether you can afford to stop working now. Maybe you could talk to your boss and explain the situation, he could be understanding?

Tell your boss your preg and maybe he'll lighten up.. if not then ignore him and work now and quit later in the pregnancy. Knowing you will be leaving the job either way will make you not care so much about the boss being a jerk.

Stress is not healthy for you or baby. Its hard enough for most women to control their BP when pregnant, let along in stressful situations.

I would quit if it were me. If I were miserable and hated it, why ruin the best time of your life for an extra buck? But then again, I hated my job but made it through for 8 months before I quit. BUt each situation is different.

You could always do something like sell on ebay or something. I did, it worked well for us.

High levels of stress are never good for pregnancy, but you have a lot more to consider now.

If you can manage without your pay, and you have health insurance even if you stop working, then you might consider stopping work.

If you work too hard, your pregnancy would be greatly affected so you should take time to rest and find another easier job that can be worked without so much stress.
