i woke up a lil after 4am to pee and had some blood on the paper. there were some...chunky bloody stuff in the toilet too. i put on a pad and everytime i use the bathroom there is kinda stringy blood and clear discharge on the toilet paper. i just went to pee again and then sat on the couch and felt like i peed on myself..it soaked the pad...did my water just break? help! this is my first pregnancy....

well by the sounds of it by tomorrow night im pretty sure you will be holding your baby in arms.

First, the chunky/stringy discharge was your mucuous plug. And yes, it does sound as if your water has broken. I am sure that within hours you will start to feel the pains of labor. You may want to call your doctor and inform him that your water has broken. In some cases, they may want you to come directly to the hospital.

Thats bloody show, and it sounds like your water did break, especially if it still feels like you're peeing your pants whenever you stand or move around.
If its your water you need to be in the hospital so they can give you antibiotics if you go too long without actual labor. But with the painful contractions you're having it shouldnt be long.
Get up and walk around, dont sit. Call your OB or Midwife and let them know about the bloody show and leaking fluid. They'll want you do come in most likely. Stay active.

Sounds like things are gearing up..Might want to put a call into your doc to give him a heads up he might have to change his plans this weekend..But, it's not nearly time to run in to the hospital! Just stay put, and enjoy..Do your house work, whatever...and rest! Your body is about to run a major marathon..Make sure you eat a really high protein meal, maybe a good steak lunch! Dont forget the carbs too! Good luck!

Sounds like you have had a show and your water has broken. Call your midwife, doctor or labour ward and they will tell you what you need to do. If your water has broken you will need antibiotic cover after a certain period of time if you haven't gone into labour. Keep upright and do some walking to get yourself into proper labour with some pain already it sounds like you will be meeting your baby very soon. Good luck and don't be scared when the real contractions begin because no one is ever prepared enough!!!

Sounds like you might have lost your mucus plug. I think you need to go to the hospital to be checked out. Sounds like maybe your water broke, and if that is the case you need to seek medical help because your baby can easily get an infection. My water didn't break until I was fully dilated and ready to have my daughter.

Yup, this is the beginning of labour. You've lost your mucous plug and your water probably broke -- which in that case you need to go to the hospital right away. Congratulations and good luck!

yay sounds promising!!!!!
= had the same experience until it felt i was constantly peeign myself. had to put a towel on the car seat and yes my waters did break.
it was then hours til even real contractions came on .
i had 24 hours to wait til the baby came out.
we left for the hospital and spent the whole day there waitng- i went in early as i had complications.
called my obgyn (who was on holiday ).
get the bag ready cos you are about ready!
p/s please eat somethign cos when u are in there they dotn give you anythign other than water!

well the stringy blood stuff sounds like you've lost your mucus plug! this wetness may be your waters have broken but they may be just trickling unless you had a big gush of water!more than if you had just wet yourself!
looks like labour is on its way though!
