Pregnancy & Parenting - 3 November 2007

He is 4 years old and can't form words that well. His mother neglects him, and he's not even in school yet. His mother had to put him into a daycare because his mother and father's work scheduale couldn't work around the school's. He's in a daycare, and that's not teaching him anything. He get's frustrated because he wants to talk and express himself, but he cannot. He can't even really say his name properly and he wasn't taught to pay attention or be disiplined. I dislike my aunt for this, it's mainly her fault. He is not autistic or anything. He reacts as a normal child, but he can't speak too much because he wasn't taught to do so. Is there a way that we can help him begin to talk? Will it be alittle hard for him?

Why is it that people will take their kids to see Rated R movies if all it is is people getting their heads cut off, zombies eating people, people getting tortured, but when it comes to seeing one boob, parents freak out and say OH NO, THERES NO WAY MY KID IS SEEING THAT. Does anyone agree with me?

my 3 year old sister was sitting on chair and fell off, and landed on her arm. she won't stop crying. its been 15 minuits now. i ask her if it hurts and she says "YES" and shes still screaming now!
do u think she broke her arm!? what do i do??

and i can't call 911, because my parents arn't home!!

Hello, I'm 21 weeks pregnant with our first baby. I have felt him move since 12 weeks, because I am so small. Today, for some reason it feels like he just spasmimg repeatedly for about a minute, and then he calmed down and a kicked a couple of times, but then he spasmed again, really fast like he was shaking or spasming really hard, and fast. I love all kids, but for some reason the disrespectful/rude kids have really got on my nerves lately. My sons best friend is always saying something mean to someone. For example he's always calling my daughter & his sister ugly or stupid..... His rudeness has gotten worse the last couple times he has come over. When he's here I keep telling him I don't allow that kind of talk in my house, but he keeps doing it. Any nice suggestions on how to handle this? I don't want to be too mean to someone elses kid, but I can't allow him to keep talking to my daughter & treating her the way he has.

What do you think of little boys playing with dolls?

My son is only 1 year old but I've often wondered if he might like a baby doll when hes a bit older. Theres a 3 year old at our mum and baby group who LOVES dolls and has his own doll and pushchair, lol! He has great fun pushing it around! He pretends he's a "daddy" looking after his "baby". (He has a baby sister and obviously has seen his dad caring for her).

I think thats actually very positive. It teaches him that daddies don't just do "blokey" things with tools and cars, but they look after babies too.

I thought about getting him a soft-bodied baby doll for Christmas, but my other half is horrified at the idea! Do you think its OK for little boys to play with dolls? I mean girls play with train sets, guns etc don't they (I did!)
