Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 October 2007

My 16 year old daughter has recently confided in me that she is pregnant. She told me that she doesn't know what to do, and that she wants ME to make a decision for her as to whether or not she should get an abortion. I honestly don't know. Any ideas, opinions, etc would be helpful. Should I let her get an abortion or not?

Theo.....he's 9 years old...loves the name Theo but HATES Theodore. His school policy is that whatever name is on his birth certificate goes on/in everything...yearbook, book, etc. We want to change his birth cert to say just Theo. Besides, he was named exactly after his dad...he is the third. His dad always had problems with creditors because he was named after his dad....and anything his dad did reflected on him. I want to avoid this problem as well. Is this a hard process?

Yesterday, when my husband came home from work and greeted me with a big hug and loud hello, my unborn baby gave me a huge kick. I am 24-weeks pregnant and it is the biggest kick I have felt thus far. It actually took my breath away.

I told my husband that our son recognized his daddy’s voice, but my husband was skeptical. Do you think it is possible that the baby was responding to hearing his dad’s voice?

when you had a baby? My partners brother has always been dead set against kids. He mocked us when I was pregnant and said we were mad to have a baby. Since Serry was born he has taken such an avid interest in her Im amazed. He does it quietly but keeps popping up, fighting for a cuddle when we are at her grandads house. He even drove over 2 hours to drop a birthday card off to my partner when he could have easily put it into the post. Im sure it was just to see her. I think its lovely and sweet.

I'm thinking about getting ready to ttc but I'm almost sure my ob/gyn will not be supportive. She has given me the third degree before on a couple of different issues. She has made me uncomfortable about my weight issues in the past. I love the womens center I go to but I don't feel comfortable with her. What should I do?

Okay, so my neighbor is pregnant with her 2nd child, due at the end of the month. She swears up and down that she doesn't know what she's having, but has a "hunch" that it's a girl. And over the weekend, she put a PINK carseat in her car. She said they didn't find out with their first either, but she "just knew" it was a boy, but that's easy for her to say, cuz he is a boy. I just find it kinda strange that she denies knowing what she's having. She even borrowed all the old girl clothes from another neighbor. Why would you do all that on a hunch? I mean, come on! The pink carseat is a little too far for not knowing what you're having. I think she knows and just doesn't want to tell anyone. Why would you deny something like that when you do know? It's bugging me. I know it shouldn't, but why do people do that? I'm pregnant as well and I'm finding out the gender in 3 weeks and can't wait to tell everyone!

a few months ago My ex went up north to visit the her new love of her life! But I didnt feel right, when she was too come back she said that she wasnt feeling well and she was having really bad menstrual pain and bleeding and throwing up. I asked her friend if she had one becasue I found pregnancy tests hidden in her bathroom and she had yet to say yes or no to having an abortion! Should I assume she had one or is there a agency i can call to find out if she had one? Do they keep track of that kind of stuff?!

girls have been accusing my 8 yr old of stealing and she doesn't even go over to this girls house. She told this girl that and I don't know what I can do about it. Do I just let them work it out or do I stick up for my daughter, do I call the mother of this girl? I don't want other kids to not be friends with my daughter because of this. It makes her and me feel bad.

I have a 5 year old sister who wears a belt with everything, jeans,shorts,dresses,costumes, even swimsuits. She really doesnt need to wear the belt becuase all these clothes fit her fine, its just one of those things with kids ya know.. So anyways the question is.. She tightens the belt so so so so so tight to where u cant even get a finger in.. When she tightens it she sucks in alot and then clips it.. Is this okay? It worries me a little.

My baby has had a stuffy nose for more than a week, I been puting the dropps Little Noses, but is not helping she just started with a small cough yesterday.
Please help me out on what would be good to give her or do. Any home recepis that would help too.

We started ttc about 6 months ago. We have sex all the time, but when its the crusial "baby making" sex he says he is tired??? He says that he hates the fertal time because he feels like Im using him. How do I change this?? Im guilty of not taking his feelings into consideration, because i told him to get over it. I have been with my bf for about a year and 3 months now. i am young, but i love him..please dont judge my relationship or me having a sexual relationship atmy age, im not looking for people to go off on what im doing. I am looking to see pples opinions on what to do. im pregnant,about 6 weeks, i have been trying to get my mind clear and decide what im going to do but i just cant, its really hard. my boyfriend wants an abortion, but im 85% sure i want to keep the baby. the only thing pushing me away from keeping it, and getting an abortion, is my boyfriend and my age. my mom wants to keep it she said shes here for me and expects to suport the baby most of the way.i dont go to school i have my ged and im going to college in about 1 or2yrs. i have a job.im being responsible with all of my decisions and i plan on being an art teacher. i cry everytime i think of abortion, and im very bipolar and suicidal and i dont believe i can deal with how im going to feel after i get an abortion.

I was wondering when to try to take my daughter to a movie at the theater. She is only 2 1/2 but can sit through a movie at home if it catches her attention (it is a toss-up as to what will / will not keep her in the seat for 1 1/2 hours). I didn't want to waste money going to a theater to see a children't feature without some feedback from you. She may be overwhelmed with the other children or the darkness. What was your experience?
