Try a vaporizer in her room. Other than the Little Noses and vaporizer, there isn't much you can do for a baby that young.

DO NOT under ANY circumstances other than the doctor's give your little one any type of cold medicine... It's not necessary... You can rub some baby Vick's on her chest especially at night and use a humidifer that should help and if the stuffy nose/cough last more than 3 days or a fever should develop then see your pediatrician.. Good luck

My little girl just got over her cold. It felt like forever, but it was probably two weeks of coughing, snuffy nose, and post nasal drip. I kept her propped up while sleeping and used a humidifier. They said to use a cool mist one, but I couldn't feel any moisture coming out, so I used a regular humidifier. Going from a really moist environment right into a cold dry environment usually helps them clear their head too. This time of year is great for that. Steam up your shower and leave her in there for 5-10 min... then take her outside. I always felt that the little noses didn't really do anything but make her mad.

Are you talking about the little noses saline drops? That is what we've started using. We put in a few drops when he is starting to sound more congested and especially right before his bottle. After giving the drops we wait about 2 minutes and then suction out his nostrils. This has helped more than anything else. Our dr. gave us a decongestant prescription and it didn't help at all. We have tried the humdifier, too, and that doesn't seem to help either.

You cannot give a child that young any cold medicines, so invest in a humidifier. The virus has to run its course, unfortunately, but you can make it a bit easier on your little one. If you can't afford a humidifier, turn on the shower so the bathroom fills with steam and sit with her in there for about 10-15 minutes. This should help a bit. Also, keep her head elevated when she's sleeping.

Sounds like she has a head cold. Have you been using a nasal aspirator? Babies hate it but it will help them breath better. Also try:
A cool mist humifidier
Little Remedies Baby Rub - like vapo rub for babies
Cool cloths if your baby has a fever
A warm bath may help break up the congestion

Do not use any herbal or home remedies without giving your doc a quick call!

My little girl is 4 months, and is having the same problem. I tried little colds too, but it really didnt help. I have been giving her a warm bath everyday, so the steam will help break everything up, and maybe try some vapor bath.

Put an amethyst crystal near where she is most of the time. It will aid her breathing. Crystals really work, they give awesome healing energies, Amethyst and Smoky quartz are known as the master healers. Other than that, its hard to know about newborns being so tiny. You can also look in aromatherapy books for newborns, I will see if I can find any formulas you can do for her/him. There are not a lot of books because babies at newborn have to have such a need to cut the cure to a slight fraction. Crystals are safe and really do work. If i can help please feel free to call upon me. I am a licensed psychic healer. kaiser.cathy@yahoo.com . I have made for my daughter who is a mother of four home formulas for her babies many times. I am glad to help anyway I can. You really need to find a baby doctor that has an open mind for herbs, they are out there, its just a matter of finding one.
