I use to work at an assisted living facility. We went trick or treating there last year with a just turned 3yr old and 1 yr old. It was GREAT! It was warm, and safe, and wonderfully entertaining to the residents that live there. Nothing was scary. I believe that an assisted living facility is cleaner then a nursing home, and the rooms are actually apartments, so the people living there are very alert, and not intimidating to children. It's like going to see 40 different grandmas :) We are going back this year, and probably for the next few years. Halloween is a touchy holiday for me, its getting out of control gory- not something I want my little ones to see, so taking them there protects them from the public. Yet lets them still knock on lots of doors saying trick or treat. Maybe if I am lucky they will never want to go anywhere else. It is just a wonderful feeling bringing joy to the elderly. And the kids will be blessed too.
I hope others will do the same!

I'm taking mine to a halloween thing at the zoo where they can trick or treat and play games. Many churches have safe creative carnivals where the kids can come for free also. I don't take my preschoolers door to door unless it is family friends just to be on the safe side!

I am not sure where you live but a lot of malls will do trick or treating now. Its safer than going around a neighborhood and also warmer. Check your local news station websight for places that have activites for halloween.

Most churches have a "trunk or treat" where they give out candy from the trunks of their cars in the church parking lot. No devilish costumes are allowed so the kiddies won't get scared. Malls are also a great place to go!

feels like relaxing!!! possibly we will do a similar :) video games: i might want to imagine a pinata might want to be relaxing for them (no longer very massive tho, because maximum of them will be round 3yrs previous). possibly something they could hit very few situations, and then the sweet spills out....or the mummy and dad can do it for them, and they could get excited at the same time as they see what's interior. The 'potato sack leap race'. the position the toddlers in basic terms leap round in a pillow case, and attempt to get to the end line 1st. in this interest they in truth all win :) possibly the infant to get there 1st, get's to p.c.. the sweet/take care of 1st. 'Toss the bean bag on the pumpkin'. Draw a pumpkin on a piece of cardboard, and performance the toddlers toss a bean bag on the pumpkin drawing. Whoever receives the nearest receives to p.c.. a prize 1st (yet all of them p.c.. one on the top). you may want to do a 'discover the ghost's interest'. the position you're taking tiny white products of cloth/or napkins, and stuff the heads with cotton balls, and in basic terms have them run round and discover them. you may make up your own rules :) nutrition: Halloween themed cookies & cupcakes. chicken nuggets for the significant route & mac n cheese. Loot bags: at the same time as i become little, I continually idea those spider rings, and skeleton necklaces were neat :) . Rubber/gummy like creepy crawlies. possibly little rubbery pumpkins for the toddlers that get grossed out by technique of the different stuff? Pumpkin/ghost pencil toppers. those white plastic vampire teeth. have relaxing!! :)

A lot of apple farms have fun Halloween activities for kids or you could take them to a pumpkin patch.

Many malls have events on Holloween, sometimes sponsored by a local TV or radio station. That would be my first choice.

Take them to the fire station. As a Fireman, I love it when the kiddos come by!

It will be very memorable for the kids too!
