I don't like it. This is related to that poster awhile back that mentioned Dakota Rayne. It sounds like a cheap detergent. My parents currently live in Montana. While the Western side is gorgeous, Butte and Billings and such are nothing worthwhile. Instead of naming her Montana, why not pick a nice sounding town in Montana? That way, people won't think of Hannah Montana.

Here's some nice sounding towns in Montana:

Helena
Ashland
Arlee
Libby
Augusta
Ismay
Lindsay
Angela
Jordan

I like the two names, just not together.

Montana Rain...that's just a play on words and NOT cute for a baby's name.

Give it one of these two names with just a regular name and see what you think.

There are going to be too many girls being born into names like Montanna and Cheyenne . Just like now there are too many 20 somthings going around with names like Brooke . ( No offense intended !) She'll get lost in the crowd with a "used to be trendy" name . Try to think of a name that will be attractive and respected when she is 16 . ( Remember you are naming a child , not a dog who will be dead in sixteen years and whose name won't make much difference anyway .)Come up with something new and original , or go back to the classics . How about Sunny , Molly , Shawn , Candita , Tango , Smile , Rebecca , Annette , Nicolette , ...
BTW if it is Montana everyone will call her "Monty" !

Sound like a weatherman's name on the evening news. It might be cute now, but a name is very important to a person and could determine that child's fate in life. Your daughter needs an intelligent and strong name. A name that will identify with changing the world, discover the cure for cancer, an answer to preventing poverty and the prevention of wars.

I like the Montana but the Raine is a bit top heavy. What about Montana Rae, Montana Rose or Montana Jane or something else short and sweet?

I really don't like "place names...Montana, Cheyenne, Savannah, Paris, London, etc. Raine is a pretty name though.

I'm sorry, but it sounds like a phrase that might be used on the Weather Channel. And given that those exact sort of word/phrase "names" are the most common in the adult entertainment industry, it seems you're setting her up for a lifetime of woe ... or at the very least, destining her for the pole. I'd keep looking.

How about United States for a name?

States and Countries as names drive me crazy!

I like Raine, but Montana sounds kinda trendy. When I think of "Montana" I think of Hanna Montana and rednecks naming their girls after western places (Dakota, Cheyenne, etc.)
