Thanks to many different opinions (including some of yours!), we are most likely going to name our son Kyle Joseph. What do you think of that name?

My husbands best friend passed away in a motorcycle accident about a year and a half ago. His name was Kaleb Charles Jalowi. I am 35 (almost 36) weeks pregnant with my husband and I's second child. We want to name him after Kaleb but we arent really big fans of the name Kaleb or Charles. So we want to know if would be weird to name him Kaleb Charles but call him KC (like the name casey).

I would mix it with breastmilk and only put a small amount in? my friend says that it's perfectly fine and that's what she did with her baby, but I just want to make sure.

& i'm sort of in awe right now. Any high IQ'ers out there have comments on what it's like to be around 140. I'm maybe 128 & husband's about the same but our parents were all smarties, does it skip a generation?

I'm finding feeding her myself at the moment increasingly tiring as I also work from home. She is now 5months and eating 3 solid meals a day and just about going sleeping through the night. Would it be ok to replace her breastmilk feeds with goatsmilk at 6months? I don't really want to give her formula milk.

I have little information to search with in looking for my biological parents. My adoptive parents have told me all they could and I would like to know if there is anyone out there who could help me in beginning this long and tedious task. I want to know, but then I don't want to find something that I would have been better off not knowing. Please help me, I'm confused and unable to function..

Many people on here have expressed the opinion that many infant adoptions would not have to take place if there was more help for expectant mothers. I'm wondering if any of you personally help to financially and emotionally support mothers in crisis, give them a place to stay, babysit, provide baby furniture, diapers, ect. especially after they have decided to parrent the child. If you do then that's wonderful, I'm not asking this to be rude, but to see if those who see a problem with adoption are working to help solve it.

Also, for those who've suggested that international adoptive parent use the money to sponsor a family or donate it to an orphanage rather then adopt, Would you honestly take out a loan for $20,000- 30,000 yourself and do this? do you plan to?Do you think it would really allow these children to have a better life then if they were adopted?

Alrighty, I have been a nanny for a five year old little girl for a few years now, and just recently since she started Kindergarten her mother has been giving her slim-fast shakes for breakfast. This peterbs me.

On the bottle, it says to consult a doctor if you're under 18. They're christian scientists so they don't believe/trust doctors, so there's no way in hell I'll be able to get her to ask one. But my question is, is this healthy for her? I honestly couldn't imagine it is, because not only is slim-fast packed with chemicals, it's a WEIGHT LOSS supplement, and a five year old should be putting on weight and taking in as much nutrients as possible.

I've already voiced my opinion on this but her mother seemed to have just tossed it aside. Being this child's nanny for days at a time I feel necessary to be concerned about her nutritional upbringing.

Anyone have any other information? Thanks! =D

We have been introducing food since she was about 4 months old, she throws up after every feeding no matter how much or how little we give her, and her doctors have no answers, so she can't really eat baby food. I have also almost completly stopped producing, can't figure out why. She refuses to take a bottle no matter what. We have tried every bottle, every nipple, sippy cups everything, and I don't know what to do. If she doesn't start to gain weight soon, and taking a bottle, then the doctors are going to hospitalize her and put a tube down her throat until she takes a bottle. PLEASE HELP US TO GET HER TO TAKE A BOTTLE AND MAYBE EAT SOME FOOD SO SHE CAN GAIN WEIGHT!!!!!

I am 47.. so this question may not apply to everyone here age wise. But.. I was raised in a time when if you did not do what you ask, or if you smarted off to your parents, you were usually spanked, or given a slap to remind you that boundries exist and if you did not follow them, then they're were reprecussions for that! Disipline... Is it lacking with kids today?

I have a 3 year old stepson, that I love to pieces and sometimes he can be just the greatest boy on earth but other times he will act like a such a spoiled brat. (and I say ACT because I would never say he was a spoiled brat, he just acts like one sometimes) And I know this is completey normal for a 3 year old.The problem is, is that his dad has no clue how to deal with it. And I can’t do anything because discipline is not my territory. The boy has already learned that screaming and crying gets his way and his dad’s excuse for always giving in is “I don’t like to see him sad”. First of all hes not sad, hes mad because he’s not getting his way. I say let him throw his fit and leave him alone, he will be okay and forget all about in 20 minutes. Daddy can’t, won’t do this. He always just does whatever baby wants and gives him whatever wants or rewards him with something after hes thrown a fit, just to make him happy.
