I just have some questions about feeding a child under 1. My daughter will be 4 months old in 2 days. I have just started introducing rice cereal. every other day in the evening next week will start evey day. I see the doc. on monday so i will ask her too but i just wanted to know what some of you did. When do I start jarred foods and when I do, how much in a day and when? Also, when do I start table foods- foods that we eat in small pieces? when i do start those, will i totally eliminate jarred food? how much formula should a baby drink when eating jarred food and table food up to 1 year old? thanks!! just bored at work and figured i'd get some input!

I do not understand why my husband and his 1st wife named there son a girls name, but they did. He is now 13 and for the past 3 years he has been picked on in school for just about everything, I personally think it has to do with him having a girls name. I read that things like that happen, kids get judeged because of there names. He is also a big kid, about 100 lbs over weight (nothing I can do about it, no one listens to me when it comes to his eating habits) but I think if he had a manly name that he would be more successfull in many things, what do you think??

My 20 month old LOVES her bottle. She has all of her drinks in it and is always having bottles. I think since she's almost 2 she should get off the bottle and atleast try sippi-cups. I've tried giving her sippi cups and she usually drinks them fine BUT her grandmother will give her botttles even when I tell her she's going for the sippi-cups. My mom says that's all crazy talk, that she's only 1 1/2 she can still drink bottles. But until my mother started giving her the bottles, she loved her sippi cups. Now she refuses them. How can I get her back in the sippi-cup routine?

take the easter bunny why do some ppl tell children that on easter a bunny will come and lay chocolate eggs in the garden
or father christmas! a fat man who lives in the north pole and has a sled that flys and is puled by raindeer comes down the chimmney and gives toys to children stupid or what?
and some parents telll ther child that they found him/her under a goosburry bush !!! and they still say dont be stupid if they say something stupid!!! its just realy dum to tell a child such things.

My little girl is 3 and i really want to get her out the nappies. she will tell me when shes had a poo and when she has had a wee but when it comes to taking her nappie off and leaving it off its all diffrent. she dont mind sitting on th epotty or loo but she never seems to sit on it when she need to if she wets herself she sreams and if she feels she needs to have a poo she demands an nappie on and if i tell her no and to sit on the potty like a big girl she never gose she will hold it in. so if anyone out there has any advice that will help me help her then please let me no.

i have even dont a sticker chart so if she gose she gets a sticker and im still waiting for her to get her first one and its been on the wall for about 3 weeks now

I know your cervix rises when you are ovulating. Does anyone have better orgasms when they are ovulating? Sex hurts sometimes for me, because he hits my cervix, but I think it's a sign of ovulation when it doesn't hurt one bit and the sex is amazing....sorry for the funny topic, but I have trouble determining when I ovulate and I think this is a sign. What about you?

Im hoping that this is my month along with all you other TTC's. I think that I most likly didn't conceive this month due to my BF being away on a business trip. But Im still hopfull. Just wanted to see what you guys thought about my chances of maybe possibly conceving this month. So heres the deal, my chart says that im firtle from sept 4th to the 8th but we only did the BD on sept 1st, 2nd, and 8th. Chart says I should have ovulated on Sept 7th. I just hope we didn't mess this month up! oh well there is always next month! haha

OK, so doing my homework on all the pre-conception stuff (BBT, CM, ovulation etc etc) the one thing that still has my scratching my head is checking on your cervix. How can you tell what 'position' it's in (low, medium, high), texture (firm, medium, soft) and opening? And how does that all relate to fetility/ovulation??
Please educate me!

Mama cat is carrying her newborns away from their box. She carries them erratically, sometimes by their belly. They are screaming. Is this normal? What can we do? hi, i have breastfed my 23 month old son till about a month ago, but i did bottles in the day and breast to get to sleep then breast if he woke at night!
In august we went on holiday and i increased my breastfeeding sometimes to earlier in the evening as hard to get bottles warmed up!
I have been on the mini pill all the time, and mostly having very regular periods, which have now stopped, has this happened to you, the chemist said it's because i increased breast feeding! I have since virtually weaned him off breastfeeding!
I have taken pregancy tests which are neg!

My 4 mo. old easily rolls from back to stomach, but not so much stomach to back. She also doesn't like to lay her head to the side when she's on her stomach. I am now getting up several times in the night b/c she will start screaming when she gets 'stuck' on her tummy. How can I fix this problem? She used to sleep 11 hours solid during the night:o) Not anymore!!!!

I am 33wks 6 days pregnant. I am on complete bedrest (yuck!) until my baby is delivered because of my blood pressure. Right now i just have pregnancy induced hypertension, but I am getting the early signs of preeclampsia. (had it with my first son) Anyway they finally had to put me on blood pressure medication because even with bedrest my BP was still out of control. I am seeing my doctor twice a week until the baby is born. My last appointment was on Tuesday and the doctor starting talking about maybe delivering the baby next week, I will only be 34 going on 35 weeks. They gave me a steroid shot to help mature his lungs, but i am just worried. He said there could be a chance that his lungs wont be mature enough and he may have to be transported to another hospital. I am just wondering if anyone out there has had a baby this early, after recieving a steriod shot? How did your baby do? I just need something to help ease my mind.

I need help figuring how far along I am, which I know can't be very far. My lmp was Aug 14 and I know I ovulated on Aug 27th. So how many weeks am I and how did you calculate that? I found a due date calculator but couldn't find anything to calculate how many weeks I am at this point. Thanks!

On my way to work this morning, the radio station i listen to had a segment about this website called marryourdaughter.com.
apparently parents can submit their daughters to this website for an arranged marriage as young as 13. and this is based here in the united states.
there is also a "bride fee" that is to be paid before the daughter is married.
they claim its perfectly legal, and states so in the bible.
I read the "testimonials" from the parents, and it seems they just want to sell of their child to make a quick buck.

I find this completely appauling, disgusting and disturbing. these parents should be locked up in jail!!!! what has the world come to? As a soon to be Mommy, i cannot imagin doing this to my child.

what are your thoughts? do you agree or disagree with this website? why or why not? would you to do this to your child??

i want to start weaning my baby who is 16 months old from the breast... gradually...and maybe keep 1 or 2 feedings a day...
right now it seems that he is BFing ALL DAY everyDAY!!! and thus doesn't eat much solid food.. he drinks al during the night.. and i feel like i am missing out on some sleep.. which makes me a little cranky and adgitated...
any suggestions would be wonderful.. this baby LOVES the "teta" more than life!!! so i think it will be quite difficult to do... thanks

OK, So, I went for the 1st suagr test ( the one hour one) and I FAILED :( Now I am being sent for the 3 hour one. Does failing the 1st test mean you have gestational diabetes and they are giving me the 3 hour one to see how advanced it is? Or should I not worry at all? Plus, they told me to watch my diet until the 3 hour test is taken. What does that mean? No carbs or sugar? Plus, to top things off, I have PCOS which makes me produce too much unsulin to begin with, so....could I get a false positive to gestational diabetes and not actually have it?
