On my way to work this morning, the radio station i listen to had a segment about this website called marryourdaughter.com.
apparently parents can submit their daughters to this website for an arranged marriage as young as 13. and this is based here in the united states.
there is also a "bride fee" that is to be paid before the daughter is married.
they claim its perfectly legal, and states so in the bible.
I read the "testimonials" from the parents, and it seems they just want to sell of their child to make a quick buck.

I find this completely appauling, disgusting and disturbing. these parents should be locked up in jail!!!! what has the world come to? As a soon to be Mommy, i cannot imagin doing this to my child.

what are your thoughts? do you agree or disagree with this website? why or why not? would you to do this to your child??

Well I'm all for the Bible and I believe in it.. But since times have changed I believe that arranged marriages are no longer appropriate. I do think that is a little disturbing.

I have a daughter myself and I would never even think of doing that to her. I believe she should choose the person she wants to marry and that would make her happy so she could spend the rest of her life with. Not by someone that is arranged.

Sometimes its hard to believe that there are sick people out there that feel comfortable from making money off their children in that sort of way.

i went to that website to see if it was true because its hard to belive that parents would actualy do that to there children, and have it be legal. And to my surprise it is true! Its horrible and discusting! I hope soon the parent will relize they are not helping there daughters at all and they will probably go with horrible men that will not treat them right.
Here is one that I read and was so upset about.

Sarah M.
Age: 16,
Location: Northwest
Bride Price:
$26,995
Sarah calls herself a Goth but we insisted she not dress in black for this photo. She reads and writes a lot of depressing poetry and it takes a lot to get her nose out of a book. She says she’s an Old Soul in a new young body and she’s already been married lots of times and she might die again tomorrow so why wait?

OMG i just went on that website and it's sooo appalling that I still have a hard time believing that this is real or even legal.....WTF is wrong with people??? this website is a haven for pedophiles!!! there are parents selling off their daughters for tons of money only to benefit themselves from it....when i clicked under testimonials, this is one that popped up.....

“Our 15 year old daughter Mary wasn’t very popular and did nothing but mope around the house bringing everybody down, so we decided to marry her off through your site. Now our house is a lot cheerier and we love our new swimming pool and Jaccuzi! We’ve told our youngest that when she turns 15 we’re going to marry her off too!"

—Mrs. James P.

and there are many more like that...
HOW DISGUSTING!

HAHAHA-I can't believe I was this gullible...THANK GOD it was just a hoax website. Read this article

As I see it is like you said an easy way to make a fast buck. I think the way you do These so called parents need to UNDER the jail!!They should not have children if they are going to sell them to the highest bidder!I wonder if the child is only being a kid but it gets on the so called parents nerve.People like this should be FIXED {Both Parents}so they can no longer make a living selling their daughters!!!

Arranged marriages are nothing new. And bride fees....ever heard of a dowry. It is sad that it still exists nowadays, but it is something that has gone on for a while, we just have more advanced technology to get it out there. It is very sad, and I do not understand how people could do that to their daughters.
**Yeah, check out the snoped link. It is a hoax site.

Surely this is just a prank... no one in their right mind in the US would allow this to go on. This would have gotten way too much publicity and I would have heard of this. Maybe you should check into this again and make sure it is not a prank. Radio Stations do that sometimes.

It is FALSE read this. You can not believe everything you hear...

I just looked at the site and your right there is something wrong with those parents they should be locked up is so wrong and disturbing I can't imagine if my parents did that to me I would be so unhappy those girls are losing a lot in life because of what there parents are doing to them

OMG! I found the site! The girls on there are teenagers! I have 2 teen daughters and I certainly DO NOT want them married anytime soon. Do you think it's a front to catch predators? Seems if we advertise our children like this it would be harder to catch child predators.

It's not legal in the USA to do this. Somebody is going to get in trouble.

There is a mormon leader, Jeffs, on trial for arranging marriages for young teens.
