I have painful burning on urination for about 2 weeks. My urine was concentrated, cloudy, and bad smelling. I am also 8 weeks pregnant. My OB put me on Macrobid for 7 days. On the 6th day of treatment I still had no relief of symptoms... the burning got worse, it was intolerably painful and stinging. But the urine culture was negative, and only showed a few white blood cells. I went back to my OB, gave another Urine sample. This time they put me on Fosomycin one time dose. It said to wait 3 days... it has been 4 days, and I still have the burning, but it is not as bad as before. My urine is also normal smelling and starting to become clear... and not concentrated like it was before. Also the second urine sample turned out negative. I am very confused, both urine cultures are negative, two different antibiotics,. drinking lots of water and cranberry, but the burning wont go away. It only burns when I pee. Also am negative for chlamydia or gonorrhea. Why is it burning when I pee???

I have tried telling him that if the egg splits or if 2 eggs are released at the same time and fertilized by 2 different sperm then there will be twins. Whose right?

This is my third pregnancy. With my second baby, I was spitting all the time. With this baby, its the same. My doctor said it was normal but I have never seen another pregnant woman that has to spit all the time. I just can't help it.

My husband's family was here this past week with their kids (they live in Italy) and I was talking to my sister-in-law about drinking ages & the # of kids/adults who drink/get drunk silly here in the US vs those in Italy/Europe. (The US has a lot more problems) I've always felt that as a parent (I have 2 17yrs) that if the drinking age was 18 in the US and the laws w/ it weren't so strict like in other countries, there would be less problems with American teens AND adults drinking & getting drunk out of their minds. Drinking & Driving is a popular thing to hear about and I find that sad. For culture/religious reasons my girls have had a lit bit of wine at Sunday dinners since they were young and have been taught the difference btwn social drinking & getting drunk. I think doing so has made them not see drinking as an activity.

What are your opinions on the drinking age (21) in the US? What do you think would think would help kids (adults of the future) see limits?

she had sex with one guy one time on the 6th. her period was from the 7th through the 12th. we had sex the 13 the 18th 21st. is it possible for the sperm from sex on the 6th was still around on or about the 18th-20th to be the father of the baby?

Often, elementary schoolers "date" their peers...at least they think that they are.

Parents hear Disney and think of great, G-rated TV, not something to be afraid of.

I think that Disney is a major contributer to elementary school children "dating" each other because on many Disney shows, Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens, Sister Sister, High School Musical (on and off screen), characters date each other.

My husband is adopting my child age 9. We are having a home study done this week. How long does the person stay at your home? Do I need to have all medications and cleaning supplies locked up? Someone sugessted that I do that but is it really nessary she has lived in our home and she does not get into cleaning supplies or medications. We do not have to lock then up but should I do so for the home study?

do you have to have an attorney for a step parent adoption? my sons bio father is signing over his rights, and has paid only half of the money to the lawyer, in turn the lawyer said he isnt going any further with this adoption until it is paid in full. My question is, since everything minus going to court has been done, do we have to have a lawyer? We are in KY, i dont know any of the laws here.. We started this process in March of this year... It is taking a very long time!! We just want to be a happy family!!!!!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant and having cramps. They aren't as bad as those horrible period cramps, but it's definitely uncomfortable. I talked to my doctor about it at my last appointment and he told me that as long as I'm not bleeding to not worry about it. He didn't really say why I was having them though. Did anyone else have this problem about this time during their pregnancy? I think someone mentioned drinking more water might help? Any ideas or suggestions?

My son refuses to eat much of anything during the day. It's so frustrating! Today all he's eaten is a one egg omelet with half a slice of wheat toast, two graham crackers and a banana, along with about 10 oz of milk and it's already 5:30. I made him green beans and grilled chicken for lunch, which he usually loves, but he refused it. This has been going on for about a week. Should I speak to his pediatrician?

I am breastfeeding my 3 month old, and the past couple days she has been screaming the same way she does when she gets her vaccinations from the doctor. she seems like she is in a great deal of pain, and she doesn't even want to eat ( and she always has an appetite). She didn't poop all day yesterday, and she gets a look on her face like shes trying real hard to go, and she gets upset. I gave her gas drops and she pooped and it looked real watery. I ate chocolate the past two days from a party- could she be having an allergy? She usually moves her bowels 2-3 times a day- she just has fits or inconsolable screaming and crying and theres nothing visibly wrong. can anyone offer some advice that may help?
