Every morning it is the same routine. I get up early and get myself ready and then I get my two boys up. My 8 year old gets himself dressed and gets al his stuff ready by himself. I have to go back and wake my 4 year old up several times before I have to drag him out kicking and screaming. It is a fight to dress him. It is a fight to put him in the car. Before you give me any advice let me tell you what I have already tried. I have laid clothes out the night before. I have tried the reward system. I have tried to take away priviledges. I have yelled. I have pleaded. I am at my wits end. I feel because I am always dealing with my younger boy that I have totally put my older son on the back burner every morning. Luckily he always helps himself but I feel as if he is left out. Any help woul be great!

my son snuck out of his bedroom window last night. i got a call around 3am. from my husbands friend, (who works late and was coming home.) and he said he saw him walking downtown with a friend, and it looked like they had been drinking. (beer can in one hand, and stumbling all over.) so i asked him where they were and drove to pick them up. i called his friends mom, and she came to my house, (we live 2 roads away) we kept asking them why, and how they got the beer but they wer to drunk and never answered. so now they both have a hangover. our question to you(we are asking together) is how do we disapline them? my husband says to smack him. should we? if not what else should we do? please help thanks.

Hi all, i need advice today. Im just over 18wks, and I have this awful feeling in my lower stomach, especially wen i stand up and move around, like pressure or someone has a fist pushed into my stomach, very uncomfortable. And wen i go to use the bathroom, my underwear is damp. I know im probably only getting wound up over nothing but just wanta check. Is it just leakage due to an expanding uterus?

Our new school year is about to start, and I'm hoping to get this right this year!
How are parents supposed to address kid's teacher in elementary school? In Kindergarten, it was Mr/Ms/Mrs all round, parents & teachers addressed each other formally.

In the last year, the teacher introduced herself to parents as Ms. Smith at back-to-school night. I always addressed her as Ms. Smith, but she used parents first names in emails/in person!
It is not a big deal, I guess. But, I'd like the addressing to be "equal",so I don't feel like a kid in class when helping out in the new room this year, she calling me 'Carol', and me addressing her 'Mrs. Wong'.... In fact, I just dont' want to call my kid's teachers by their first name...

If the teacher was on the older side & grandma-ish then I could understand it perhaps, but not when they are about my age!

So, question is, just curious to know how other parents/teachers address each other?

Just a few days ago was diagnosed with PCOS, i had my first ultrasound yesterday and the lady who took it was so annoying she didn't show me the screen, she just sent the scan pics off to the Dr. I also had blood tests done. I will be 30 in 6 months and i'm worried about not ever being able to have children, and not giving my husband the opportunity to be the best dad (he's wonderful with kids). All i was told is my uterus looks fine but i have lots of cysts. I have quite a lot of facial hair which i remove everyday and my skin is just always breaking out. I have started taking pregnacare as directed by my Dr and started a low GI diet cutting out all simple carbs. I'm feeling really emotional and frustrated, as i live in UK the NHS doesn't give you appointments for months at a time...my next appt is in November! I don't know how to deal with this and what the next step would be...please help?

My wife and I have narrowed it down to Zack Hamilton or Max Hamilton. Please help by choosing your prefered name. The middle names will be Thomas (after me) and Kenny (after his granda) - not necessarily in that particular order.

I have three other girls with more unusual names (Keeleigh, Teah and Evie) but we decided, because its a boy, to keep it simple however I am still open to any other suggestions of really nice boys names...

it wouldn't come out positive for pregnancy? A few weeks later there is severe bleeding, clotting, fever etc...

More background: I went to the ER and they did tons of tests but never said if I was pregnant. I think I may have already lost the sac and everything so it wouldn't show...the DR in the ER said that even if the bleeding stops I have to go see a gyencologist as soon as possible...I'm thinking maybe because I might need a D&C? The clotting was REALLY bad --the blood was BRIGHT red and VERY HEAVY --the clotting was pretty large at times too.
---Also, before that back when I was spotting I had also gone to the DR and they gave me a pregnancy test that was negative and put me on the pill --could this have a affected a possible pregnancy?
---When the bleeding had started, right before it, there was a mucousy discharge --but my cycles have been so messed up I didnt think about it at the time.

Forgive me for saying this, but I don't know why people are answering my question with things like "you must put a stop to this now, or it will get worse".......

why post this? I AM trying to put a stop to it......it's not just a case of sitting him down and telling him that it has to stop right here and now! I've tried that, it doesn't work.

I've tried being patient, calm, understanding. I've tried smacking him, screaming at him, withholding toys and equipment. I don't take him out anywhere at all now. He has hardly any toys left.

and he was born like this - his father (my ex) is just like this which is why I couldn't be with him anymore. My youngest son (with my husband) is perfectly fine!

I am tearing my hair out and having people telling me to put my foot down and make his behaviour stop, just like that, isn't helping at all!

I just wanted to hear if anyone has chosen not to use a pacifier for their baby and if so, how was your experience?

For parents that do use a pacifier, at what age do you stop?

I was cooking dinner last night and my 6 year old son told me that he had sex with the neighbor who is 11. I said, excuse me, what are you talking about. He said you know mommy what you do to have babies. Of course I said no, and he said when someone rubs their privates on yours.... So I asked with clothes on, and he said yes. I'm not sure what to do. Do I call the police, doctor, or just talk to the mother? How would I bring it up? Then come to find out, she also tries to kiss him and she makes him and another neighborhood girl kiss. I am so mad right now! How do I explain it to him without making him think he did something wrong? Please help me!

Hello. I had my last period on 17th June, which lasted for 7 days. I havent got my periods yet. I went for a pregnancy test today. It came positive. I am afraid, whether its true or not because, the strip manufacturing company says to hold the strip for 5 seconds in urine stream while I held it for 20 seconds ( I've forgotten it !! ). My second last period was on 27th april. It means my period cycle is quite long ( more than 50 days !! ) . I am very scared and not getting wat to do. I'm married and dont want child this much earlier. Please help me to know wat to do next ?
