It does seem like you were quite emotionally-charged in the jobcentre. However I think you are perfectly normal and nothing wrong with you venting your frustrations out in the jobcentre - who cares what other people think anyway, I mean here you are having serious worries about your financial status, having difficulties finding work and even the jobcentre doesn't seem helpful, and at the same time you have to cope with all the physical changes that come with pregnancy - that is sure a whole load of worries to cope with.

You do tend to be more emotional but also, I think the fact that you are having to ask for benefits when you have been used to working is a hard thing to do.
The jobsworths who work in these places must have to put up with all sorts of abuse from the people who go in there all the time and I think thats why they are rude. I can't believe they wouldn't see you because you were 5 minutes late, it would be a different story if they kept YOU waiting - you'd have to just sit there and take it!!!!
It infuriates me that they treat everyone with the same disrespect because a few people are rude (I've never actually been in one but my husband did once and was made to feel like a complete scrounger)
I'd like to see how they treat asylum seekers and immigrants! I bet they wouldn't dare treat them like that!

Rebook your appointment and claim everything you can - you've lived and worked in this country (and therefore paid INTO the system) and you are more entitled to it than most people who claim!!

Good luck

Ohh Darlin, I'm 14 w 4 days and let me tell you, it's normal. I normally have some what of an attitude and be sensitive, but lately my husband has been walking on egg shells. He squirted me with the shower head when I had my clothes on and I swear I cried for a good 2 hrs straight. It's ok, it's normal. Stressful and sometimes embarassing.. but normal. Just keep reminding yourself that you're growing a human being, it's not exactly the easiest thing to do. Good luck:)

Honey, don't worry about it lol. This behavior is normal! I was a mess when I was pregnant. One minute I would be laughing and the next crying. Its the hormones, when you feel like you're going to blow up at someone, just walk away and take some deep breaths. Usually its not really worth getting yourself all worked up over. Good luck.

Most people would have reacted like this - without being pregnant.

Why do some public officials feel that they have the right to be so rude to their clientele? After all, you are only applying to get money from a fund that you have been paying in to with your National Insurance deuctions!

Relax, and now that you know where the office is, next time will be easier!

Of course its normal!! You're allowed to cry and stamp your feet, its part of the benefits program that comes with pregnancy, especially when it comes to be stressed about finances! It also extends to husband/partners (in any way shape or form!) mothers and mothers-in-law, shop assistants, taxi drivers, government employees etc....(well maybe not all of them all the time!) and also to after the baby is born too!

In any case, its totally understandable that you would chuck a hormonally wobbly over this sort of thing. I hope it works out for you.

Good luck and congratulations!!!

Absolutely!!! It's totally normal to be a different person when you're pregnant. Don't worry about it. Crying actually helps. It's hard to have two spirits in one body. Have a glass of wine (just one!), talk to the baby and try to relax. It's hard but it's doable.

Peace.

I think its normal. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I cry over everything. I even have to fight back the tears over some commericals on TV =)

Completely normal. You tend to be more emotional and you get irritated about things a lot easier. Just try to take it easy and relax. Just breath deep and slow whenever you start to feel irritated and get your mind on something else.

I think you've been treated very badly by the people at the job centre. It's their responsibility to be courteous to people not abuse them, especially not when they are jibbering emotional wrecks (like I was when I was pregnant!). However, try not to let them upset you too much and breathe deeply - calm, calm, calm... Best of luck.
