it wouldn't come out positive for pregnancy? A few weeks later there is severe bleeding, clotting, fever etc...

More background: I went to the ER and they did tons of tests but never said if I was pregnant. I think I may have already lost the sac and everything so it wouldn't show...the DR in the ER said that even if the bleeding stops I have to go see a gyencologist as soon as possible...I'm thinking maybe because I might need a D&C? The clotting was REALLY bad --the blood was BRIGHT red and VERY HEAVY --the clotting was pretty large at times too.
---Also, before that back when I was spotting I had also gone to the DR and they gave me a pregnancy test that was negative and put me on the pill --could this have a affected a possible pregnancy?
---When the bleeding had started, right before it, there was a mucousy discharge --but my cycles have been so messed up I didnt think about it at the time.

I am also NOT TTC, but I thought this might be a better section to post in than Women's Health. -Thanks

Thanks, about the discharge--that's what I thought it was but it was way more than usual (looking back that's what I remember) I thought maybe it was the plug. Thank you

Even after a miscarriage a pregnancy test will show positive for up to 3 weeks. The pregnancy hormone, hcg, still circulates in your body and is excreeted in your urine. It takes a while after miscarriage for all the hcg to leave your body.

Hi there ,when my period was due I had done 3 tests all of which were +ve but 2 days later had started spotting which turned to hheavy bleeding within a couple of hours .Was scanned the next day and told they couldnt see any pregnancy sac. They then repeated a urine test which came back -ve as my hormone levels had dropped again. So my test basically went from being + to - within about 2 days of each other.I didnt need a d&c and the bleeding lasted for 1 week.I dont think the pill would have caused this as my sister fell pregnant while taking the pill and had a healthy baby.

There is a chance that you could have been pregnant but the embryo hadn't implanted yet, and then the spotting was implantation spotting, but a test done after that would have shown up positive. If you didn't test after that and then had very heavy bleeding and clotting, then there absolutely is a chance that you miscarried. The mucousy discharge could have been cervical mucous, it happens when you ovulate, usually around the middle of a cycle.

IF there was a big clot of blood, Then that was a miscarriage. But you don't need any D&C. Just go to some Gyno Specialist. She would suggest some good medicine that it shouln't happen again. You are no pregnant at this time. After Miscarriage, pregnancy test becomes negative. Take atleast 4 glass of milk daily. and CAC100 (Calcim + Vitamin C Tablet) Daily and Sangobian Tablet (Multi Vitamin) Daily with glass of milk for one month

You chould have been pregnant, yes. Your pregnancy could have been in serious trouble anyways, so I don't believe the pill would have affected it.
When I start my cycle, I always have a mucousy discharge, I don't think that would have been an indication.

On the other side, I bled, not just spotted, through my entire last 2 pregnancys.
