Pregnancy & Parenting - 16 August 2007

Lately Ive been finding my 4 week old is always hungry, like every 30 mins to an hour hes hungry. Is this normal? Am I not producing enough milk for him?
He isn't at the nipple for very long, maybe less then 10 mins at a time. I always offer more, but he doesn't take it.

Also have any of you moms had a sharp pain in your breast while feeding? When I feed him from one breast I have sharp pain in the other. The pain is mostly on my right breast. Midwife checked for thrush but thats a no.

Any ideas?

obviously i am 36 weeks pregnant, and as unlikely e as it is to go into labour at this stage, i think its something all pregnant women think about. i just want to be prepared.

has anyone given birth at 36 weeks or know of anyone who has?

My daughter is now 18 months, no matter what kinds of food I offer her, she doesn't like any of it... I have tried everything, she eats very little which really worries me... (although she loves milk and drinks alot of it every day), what shoudl I do? what kinds of food do babies like in that age?

my son was two just last june, he is a very affectionate yet independant boy. he is very accepting and adapts to new things very well. he is very happy.

i know they do not understand the situation but at the same time kids are very cluey, so i am after some ways of helping him understand and be as prepared as a two year old can be for the up coming event.

someone mentioned showing him photos of himself as a baby, but is all he was interested in was naming the people holding him (he is very proud that he can now communicate with words)

any advice?

Hello I'm gonna be taking my 1 and 2 year daughters to Disneyland THIS weekend! ANd I wanted to know what other Moms suggest I take with me? (to make my trip go smoothly)

I'm making a list of what i need
Ex.
Extra Clothes
SUnblock
Diapers
Wipes
Snacks
etc. Also I am bringing a Harness Buddy just in case lol. Any ideas of things i need???

I don't wanna go unprepared! lol.

Went to the Dr a few days ago and was 70% effaced... but not dialted... and then today I lost my mucus plug..... Does this mean labor is around the corner?

somedays like today i feel like a horrible mom. I have two sons ages 1 and 3 and i feel like i dont pay enough attention to them they mostly play alone or with each other, i dont know if this is wrong but sometimes it feels wrong. I also yell a whole lot more than i would like to and i always cry and ask my son to forgive me, which makes me feel worse cause i shouldnt have to ask him that. they are very beautiful children and are the whole reason for my exisience but i just find myself exploding at them every day and then i think to myself that they are babies and that i am stupid. I really want to stop the yelling because i dont want them to think of me like that but i have zero patience help me please i cry everyday just thinking of how horrible i am and what my beautiful boys must think of me a am only 21 years old and feel completly overwhelmed sometimes so if you have adivce i need it

It's a regular pain in the ***. Also i guess the store knew we was having a baby because when i went in to price a new crib matress(before he was born, it was $34.99. when i went back to pick one up the following week, damned if it didn't go up to $49.00. Geeeez!!!!

I just answered a question by a 16 yr old who wanted to know why her newborns skin was yellow. She also stated that she had her FIRST baby when she was 12. I don't know how serious she is, for all I know she could be making it up . But why is it that I see so many people saying congrats and such to them when they need to be telling them to quit having sex to begin with. I sure wouldnt be saying congrats to a girl who's barely old enough to drive when she's asking questions about her babies health that could kill her if she doesnt take her to the doc's or the hospital. Instead she's asking total strangers. I find it scary to know that our future children have to be raised by children themselves. I dont buy for one minute that whole sob story of how young they are and blah blah. I was a young mom too but I had common sense. It pains me to know that these babies are in the hands of complete morons.

Took him to the doctor yesterday for his ltl bi weekly checkup. ltl monster weighed in at 12lbs 10oz. I couldn't believe it. also im fairly certain he's going to have blue eyes now. which i think is pretty damn cool, considering mom and my other two monsters have the BIG BROWN eyes.

I have a 14 year old son who has been bullied since he was in first grade. He is very funny, makes his friends laugh constantly and is an incredible kid...but he has red hair and freckles and he is pretty hyperactive...so he stands out all the time.

I have lived in a new town now for 3 years and every year my son has had problems. He usually doesn't tell me about it...but I find out from his step sister that the teasing was bad that day and when I try to talk to him about it, this normally TOUGH kid just breaks down. Last year he had a problem daily with a bully who was hitting him. I called and visited the school non stop for weeks and nothing would help. Finally when the kid threw a rock at my son's head the bus driver chewed him out. Three days later the kid hid outside his house and shot at 2 buses (including his own bus) out of anger. I talked again to the principal who apologized over and over but would not admit that they could have done more.

Well my little boy seems to thinks he's the Man of the house.(Yes, Daddy's here) Bossy, rude at times; and very interuptive. Normal to most? I've seen it in other Kids too!! But I want my Boy to be sweet and innocent all the time.He talks just like an Adult. I try to give him time with kids his own age but for some reason he dosen't fit in.He get's along with kids a few years older better.He is very bright, smart and Funny too!I just don't want him to grow up and be a loner because of his attidude. I did natural chilbirth with my first daughter & when I saw that big huge epidural needle they were going to stick in my back I freaked out. How bad does it hurt getting an epidural? Is it worth it (pros vs cons)? I'm pregnant with my second baby & really not looking forward to childbirth pain again. I was lucky & only had 4 hrs of labor with the first.

ok so my aunt and my nephew who is 3 were at Marshalls, my aunt was looking at some shoes in the shoe isle while my little nephew was in his stroller trying to drag it with his feet. in the mean time there were about 5 long and thick metal rods layed against a wood paneled wall unsecurely. all the sudden my little nephew screams help me and is not squished between the floor and medal rods due to them falling on him! my aunt runs to him and pulls the first rod of him, she layed it against the wall, now she is picking up the second rod, and she fails and it drops right on her foot and she fell and started crying her eyes out in pain!!! IS THIS A LAWSUIT?

I'm 32 weeks preg, and my baby is laying right on my syatic nerve! It's very painful, and i can't get any reliefe! I use to be able to just move around and he would move over. But know he is on it all the time......and I can barley walk at this point from the pain. I talked to my doc and they said there was nothing they could do for me. He suggested swimming, or a massage. I would love any suggestions!
