I buy everything on the list. I think we're expected to. I get store brand on a lot of things, but I buy everything.

No, I let my son pick two or three things on the list that he would like us to get for the classroom. Then, we go together to pick them out. This way he feels like he put in to the classroom and not just me buying things. We have done this for three years and it seem to really make him feel good.

The mandatory things yes, our list is even specific about the brand you buy! When they ask for donations I usually do not provide those things at least not initially. With 2 kids in school they are good to get the necessities. I do what I can to help out during the school year.

No, everyone provides one to three items on the list. i always try to get what I think no one else will get for them. Not always the cheapest. If I buy a more expensive one, then I may only buy that one item. Go with your budget, not there requests.

No i would just buy the pencils,erasers,crayons and folders your kid will need.
