I know this question has been asked before, but the answers were a little iffy so I thought I'd post it, too.

When should you start giving your formula-fed baby water? My son is 5 months old and the doctor has never mentioned a thing about it. We use powdered formula mixed with water, so of course he's getting hydrated, but I wondered if we were supposed to be giving him plain water, too? And if so, how much a day?

The little bitty issue that I have and would like some advice on is that I have a 3 month old baby, and my stepdaughters loooooove him so much (luckily they aren't jealous). But, I'm still getting adjusted to motherhood myself, and it's natural for me to want to keep the baby away from all germs and any possibly injuries.

The girls always want to touch and hold and play with the baby, and it makes me upset whenever I put him down to do some housework they start messing with him and wake him up when he's sleeping. From there, they get in trouble with me and I end up getting onto them. Also, when I tell them not to pick him up (bc they are too small to pick him up and carry him around by themselves) they still do it, and I get mad at them but I feel it's too harsh to put them in timeout for that. Unfortunately though, it happens over and over again.

I don't know if it's just me being too sensitive about the whole thing or if I'm in the right for getting upset at them over that.

In almost 20 i already have a 18mnth old daughter. My BF askd me if I would like to have more kids i said yes but i didnt know when. I would kinda like to wait till after my 21 b-day but then the kids would be almost 4yrs apart. He wants to try NOW so that they are 2-3yrs apart. What do you think is best closer in age or farther apart?

Everyone insists I try spanking because I have tried everything else. YES, WITH CONSISTENCY!!! But when I do spank him, he doesn't really care. I don't do it hard, is that why? How hard do you spank? I don't know if I feel comfortable with doing it with all my strength or anything but the ones I do don't seem to phase him, he hits me back much harder! He actually hurts ME.

When I was in my very early 20's I was beaten and raped. I realized I was pregnant not too long after, I prayed alot about it and decided to keep my daughter. Now she is a beautiful, young four year old whom I love to pieces. Anyways, I am a strong christian and need some advice. Pretty soon, my daughter will start asking me about her daddy. What do I tell her? I do not really feel that telling her I was raped would help her self-esteem or benefit her in any way. DO you have any suggestions? Thanks!

5 weeks, i have no insurance and have applied for medicaid, but not accepted yet!! I have had 2 miscarraiges in between my 2 boys and scared about it, my ? is should i go to the appt. i have scheduled for tommorrow or wait until Medicaid kicks in which should be any day now? Alright, right now I work 40 hours a week, my husband too. We have two children. My daughter is 5 and my son is 3. She starts school this year and I am stressing about making sure there is a place for her to go. See, we are new to the area and I don't have family here. Ok, so to the point. As of right now, she is in daycare, but Monday she starts school and the daycare spot will be lost. Now, when she has certain days off from school I have to work some of them and have no one to put her with since her daycare spot will be gone. These are my options: 1. bring her to work (which boss won't allow) 2. take time off (these would be unpaid days) or 3. get done my job and try to get state help until we can meet more people and become better acquainted with the area. This is just hard for me because she is my baby for one and I get nervous about her because she is epileptic and well, as a mother, I just get nervous..lol. Also, I hate the thought of going on the state. what (w)should (u)i do?

A coworker of mine invited me last year to come over for a few drinks. I had something going on last year and had to cancel. Well she just asked me again today to come over tomorrow night. I said I would go; however, I haven't told anyone at that I am pregnant. I need some advice on what to do. I really like this girl and appreciate the invite and would love to go if I wasn't pregnant. What should I tell her? Should I just be honest with her about the pregnancy and ask her not to say anything? Basically I want to be invited again, and I don't want her to think I am avoiding her.
