i would go to the appointment and see if thay can bill you later. explain the situation to your doctor. if they refuse to bill you later visit a planned parenthood or health department. i think it's free. when your insurance kicks in you can return to your regular doctor. don't panic everything will work out. congrats on your pregnancy.
and to that lady talkin about her tax dollars going to waste, don't be so cruel. you may find yourself in this situation and want some advice too. you'll get your tax dollars back when you file anyway!

If you're certain you qualify for medicaid, I'd wait a few days to see if you're accepted. That short a time shouldn't make any difference. However, have you thought about what you'd do if you were not accepted? It's going to cost a lot more to have a baby than this initial examination. You might be eligible for a different type of insurance, one of those with a low premium and a high deductible. It's not the best, but better than none at all. If you or your husband work, you should either be covered by an insurance plan at your employment, or start saving up for the delivery.

If you have the money, then pay for the visit. BUT...medicaid will cover medical expenses up to three months prior to being accepted. If you can work something out with the doctor concerning the medicaid approval, then you should do so. I don't believe that Medicaid will reimburse you for the visit.

i would cancel

no amount of early prenatal care can stop a miscarriage this early, and there really isn't anything the docs can do, save the money and wait til medicaid kicks in

take your vitamins tho and eat healthy stay away from caffiene

good luck

First, don't stress. Second get a nice bottle of pregnancy vitamins.
Then call the Dr's office and explain about the problem of paying for the appointment, you need to go either way but hopefully they can help you either spread the costs out or will have other options.

Prenatal care is very important. If you can't afford to go to a regular physician, go to the health department, they can help you with prenatal care. Or, if your doctor doesn't make you pay up front, Medicaid can be retroactive, meaning even if you're not approved til next week, they'll still pay for your visit tomorrow.

I had medicaid before also and it will actually go back I think like 3 months so go to your appointment then when your medicaid card comes in take it to your doctors office and tell them that you'd like them to bill your insurance company your last appointments bill. That should take care of it. Good luck. and stay strong.

I would go to the appt. When I had Medicaid with my pregnancies they always back-dated it to the 1st of the month I applied in.

I would go. If you are getting assistance they should pay the bill even though it will go into effect after the appointment. I was on assistance with my first child and one of the questions they ask was if I had medical bills that needed to be payed.

If your medacaid is suppose to be kicking in. I know in CA their "Medi-Cal" covers any charges you may have got from going to the doctors for the previous 30 days . You should call your case worker and ask if they will cover you office visit tomorrow. =)
