Did you not know for some time now that your child would be starting school soon? And were you not aware that your child needed new clothes? I just can not figure this out. Really, I am not trying to be rude.

Brand new school clothes are not a necessity. If s/he has decent clothes that fit, then s/he does not NEED new clothes. You can purchase clothes, often in GREAT condition, at consignment and thrift stores for a very reasonable price. Some churches have clothes closets where they give away clothes, also.

Purchasing new clothes for school does not have to be done all at once-I can understand being broke, but foresight would have allowed you to purchase a shirt here, a pair of jeans there, etc. So again, I just can not understand this 'problem'.

Drive to Deleware, they have a free store in the downtown area, I'm not sure where it is exactly, call around.

Some churches might help. I gathered up some of my kids gently used clothes that they had outgrown, and took them to a thriftshop where they buy them off of you, or old toys, books etc... like a Once Upon a child store.

Look on Greigs List, people give away free stuff all the time, or call one of those numbers that are selling clothes and just tell them your story, any good hearted person would just give them to you.

Wish I had something, I'm trying to buy for 4 kids right now.

Just look around your house or garage, you may have something of worth that you looked over that you could sell. Do you have family? All your kids really need right now is enough to get by until the sales start up. Khols and Old Navy seems to have the best clearance prices out there, I have gotten shirts for 80 cents.

You may have to babysit or think of something you can do from home to bring in some more cash, something you can sell that you make. hope I helped.

p.s. post this comment on Greigslist, or is it Craigslist, and give your address, and tell others they can drop things off at your door.

Salvation Army, Goodwill, Sacred Heart, or your local church. The first three will give you clothes for cheap. Your local church could help you by getting involved in a charitable act of kindness by asking people to donate clothes. You could always go to garage sales or have your aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews or anyone else in your family to give you clothing. Good luck and God bless you!

Check with friends with children who are slightly older. They may be willing to sell gently used clothing really cheap, or even give it away to make room. School counselors often have access to funds to help families who need assistance. You may also check out garage/yard sales in your area. There are often kids clothes that have barely been worn for next to nothing. Best of luck.

Salvation Army stores and Goodwill stores sell inexpensive clothing. Also you should try selling some of your old clothes or accessories to get some more money. Maybe ask friends who have children a little older than yours if they have old clothes they can give you.

Some places like Sacred Heart offers free 10 min shopping.
You could also shop at second hand store like Good Will.
And I think places like Mervyens also offers a free $100 shopping spree for underprivileged kids.

Do you know how to sew? You could always take a page out of "The Sound of Music" and make clothes out of your curtains for them!
If not, try Salvation Army or Goodwill. Usually you can get some nice clothes for pretty cheap. Also, check the local listings in your newspaper for garage sales. People are often willing to sell things for very cheap at garage sales!!
