My younger sister had 2 VBAC's. At first she hated my guts for talking her into it, but was so grateful that she didn't have to recover from the surgery and still take care of the baby. Nursing was much easier too!!! I would encourage you to go for it. Hey there is always the fall back if you want it but I would encourage you to get all the support and knowledge you can and make sure your Dr or preferrably a midwife is strongly supportive, not passive so you have as little interference as possible.

You have my 100% support!!! Go For It Girl!

My first daughter was born by emergency cesarean, and my son was born VBAC. We are now expecting another daughter, and intend to have another VBAC.

Having had both, I can tell you that the recovery is MUCH easier and quicker with a vaginal delivery than it is with a major abdominal surgery-especially considering you already have a child to take care of (thankfully, my cesarean was with my first child) in addition tot he new baby. I can not imagine recovering from major abdominal surgery with a toddler and a newborn to care for.

Do your research, keep positive-but do keep in mind that it is not a sure thing that your VBAC will be successful. Another cesarean may become necessary for one reason or another. However, you will never know if you do not try.

I wish you the best!

I don't know anyone and actually I'm actually hoping for a vaginal delivery with my second. But I'm believing as long as your healthy and your doctor is great it should work out for you. It also depends on the reason you had a c-section. I had one b/c my hips would not spread for my son's head. I'm hoping this time I have a baby with a smaller more pliable head and I can have it natural ( I know that sounds wrong) But good luck to you.

I was a CNA in maternity for six years, I saw many deliveries that were VBAC and never saw a problem although there is a risk. Have you discussed the risks with your physician?

One of my close relatives, she now has 3 kids. Her first was a c-section, emergency. And her last two kids were born vaginally. No complications. You would just have to discuss your options with your Dr. I had my fist c-section, emergency, pre eclampsia, so my next one I will try for vaginal delivery. My chances are good becasue it wasnt due to misc physcial complications (i.e. labor not progressing due to dialation, head circumfrence too large..etc.) Good luck!!!

My best friend had one after a c-section with twins and she swears that if she had known what it was like she'd have gone with another c-section. I personally wouldn't worry about it as long as you had a "normal" c-section and your doctor feels confident about a vaginal delivery.
