I am due with first child at the end of October. We are having a little boy. For his room we have are going to do a jungle theme. My husband and I both like the bedding set called "Jungle Babies". But I have never really decorated a room before.. we want it to be like walking into a real jungle in there. But not to much where it would scare a baby or toddler. Any suggestions?

My son has recently been dragging around his blankets and I was wondering to the mothers who have children that cling to a specific thing for comfort should I stop this blanket thing before it gets out of hand or pray he grows out of it.

In general terms: You are in a public place. There are unsupervised children. They are misbehaving... something more than simple mischief but less than blatant criminal behavior. What would you do? What should you NOT do? Would you have them tell you where they live and take them there? Would you call the police? Would you locate other adults to help you? Would you mind your own business? A generation or two ago this wouldn't be an issue... all adults were regarded as parental figures for all children. But today?

[My recent scenario: I came across three siblings (age estimate: 6-14) in a public playground that was adjacent to a jogging track I was using. The older brothers were aggressively bullying the younger sister. There were no parents or other adults supervising these kids. I did intervene, but as a grown adult MALE (with no children of my own) I had concerns about getting to close to strange kids in this sexual-pervert predator-fearing world that we live in.]

Every other question asked on yahoo answers is stupid. Do these new parents really exist or are they just trying to be funny? What a sad world we live in with all of these morons reproducing.

My dh has a son by a previous relationship, he is seven years old and lives with his mother. He stays with us whenever he wants and My dh picks him up from school everyday and takes very good care of him....actually he spoils him extremely bad. He has a room at our house. Okay there's the thing....when I found out I was pregnant everyone was happy. Now that the kids will have to share a room things are not going as smoothly. My dh is making me feel like I am taking this room away from his son. That is the only room other than our room. I also feel like our son will never be as important or loved by his father like his first son. His has made comments about NOT getting excited and attached to our son because of what happened with his other son (his mother leaving with him). He hasn't even bought our child anything yet and I am 8 months preg. I just feel like our son should be treated just as fair and loved just as much as his first son. By the way this is my fist child!!

My husband and I have picked Isobel for our daughters name. I regrettably went with Katherine as her middle name to get his grandmother to hush.

So her name will be Isobel Katherine.

I still can not warm up to the Katherine, except for she is my favorite character on Greys Anatomy.

However, Everyone in his family is refering to her as Katie because they hate the name Isobel.

So now I want to change the middle name, but my DH doesn't want to upset his grandmother. Oh yeah and I have asked them all to stop refering to her as Katie.

We are due in 3 weeks! Any advice!

I keep coming across more and more things I've never heard of! I asked a question about weight and someone said that their baby has it's head measured...I'd never heard of that! So I ask a question about that and someone says they have it done at Well Baby Visits...I've never heard of that either!!

My 8 month old has never had to go the the doctors, she's never (touch wood) been unwell....

So what is a Well Baby Visit?

Ok Iast night I had strong cramping as if my period was going to start now I'm getting the same cramping and my body is aching and so is my stomach. As in my last post my stomach ache is getting worse. The back pain I have goes away but comes back and when I lean into it it helps. Anyone have any ideas? I think I need to have my cervix checked again. I was dialated at 4cm on thursday and my doctor is booked for the day. Should I just go to the labor and delivery and just see if my cervix has changed?

Dont want to hear he'll come when he's ready either. If it was up to my 1st child, he would've stayed in 1 full month after he was due. Serious answers pls. and i am 38 weeks pregnant, full term,2nd child.

(If you directly want the question, its at the end)
I am currently 14.

At 16 I get my moms car (an SUV), at 17 I move out with the support of my mom, my dads child support, my nana and my job of course (whatever that may be), at 18 I move to either Brooklyn or LA for college for acting, and improv I get a side job either working at some comic store, or waitressing.
_____________

It's not like I just randomly think of these things, now of course, not everything is thought out, I will likely take more classes than just acting and improv, and i don't know what my job will be, or exactly where im moving, but I have plenty of time to work that out. I'm only worried that in time I will change these plans, which is bound to happen, but that kinda makes me sad because I just have it perfectly in-visioned in my mind. lol (:

I want to know if my "plan" is a good one, and does anyone else do this? (plan ahead)

Well yesterday it started I went to the DR and he told me I was measuring at 39 weeks (I am 36) and I probably won't go full term. But then not a change in my cervix and my baby hasn't dropped all the way down yet, even though I have an extreme amount of pressure! I got home from work last night and my dogs got out so I had to run around and catch them, lol. I didn't think I'd be able to run this big until last night, I didn't want them to get hit by a car. ANYWAY, after I got them I was having serious contractions I thought for sure that put me in labor. I got some water and started walking with my daughter around the neighborhood. I was timing them at 4 mins or so apart and each one hurt like hell. So I called my mother in law and told her to get ready, I went home and relaxed for a little while still getting them. But then all of a sudden they started dying down and I was just cramping. And then NOTHING. What happened? I thought I was going to have a baby! What does this all mean?

I'm 18 weeks preg (first baby) and I've been having round ligament pain since 16 weeks on my right side - pretty severe... just wondering if anyone knew of anything that gave some relief to the pain? (ie - hot showers, laying on left side, massaging it - I have no idea) :) If there's anything out there or anyone knows anything, that would be helpful - thanks! :)

We are currently trying to conceive, I am in my ovulation week right now. I think I have a yeast infection or some sort of infection because I have a slight fishy odor and a slight burning sensation. I don't know if this is from all the sex we have been having or a reaction to the lube pre-seed or maybe even my aloe toilet paper upsetting my system. In any case, I am ovulating soon will this prevent conception? Like make the environment more hostile and kill the sperm or keep me from ovulating even? Or are we ok and just keep trying?

I gave birth to my baby boy on Sunday at 3:57 am. He was 5'9lbs. I went to the hospital for my drs. appointment and my blood pressure was still acting up so they decided to admit me until they had room to induce me. Saturday night my blood pressure was acting up again in the hospital so they decided they would just induce me then. They checked my cervix and it was 3 cm dialted. After that I started having contractions. They hooked me up to IV and started the induction at 10:45pm. So this labor was a whole 5 hours, which is awesome compared to the 22 hour labor I had when they induced me with my daughter.
I just wanted to give you guys an update to say that you'll now see me posting in the newborn section!!! Thanks to all those who gave me advice.

Ok this morning I woke up with a lot of pain and pressure down in my lower area. When I walk it hurts and now I have a stomach ache that is dull and my back is hurting. COuld this be labor or what? I called to see if my doctor could see me today but he is booked. What should I do I'm already 4cm dialated.

I had a doctor's appt last week when I was 10 weeks pregnant because I was having some brown spotting. All they did at the appt. was listen for the heartbeat, which they found and said it sounded strong. I still had some brown spotting for a couple of days after my appt. Now I'm 11 weeks pregnant and the spotting has stopped, but my nausea seems to be going away, could I have had a missed miscarriage even though we just heard the hearbeat a week ago? By the way, the doctor told me not to worry about the spotting, but I still do, even though its gone now.
