I am just a little paranoid. I am pregnant with my first, and I am 13w 5d. I got an at home doppler yesterday, and found that cute little heart beat with no problem :) But I counted 168 bpm.. is that an ok heart beat??

thats a perfectly healthy heartbeat

That's a strong and vigorous heartbeat and according to my midwfe, indicates you might be having a boy!

As your pregnancy progresses and baby grows bigger, the heartbeat will slow somewhat - just so you will know when the time comes and not worry needlessly.

Congratulations and all the best to you and baby!

Yes that sounds about right. The bigger the fetus gets the slower the heart rate will be but yes that is normal.

that is normal. the central nervous system is still inmature right now, that's the reason the hearbeat is so fast. as the baby matures and gets ready for delivery it will slow down to 120-150BPM.

Totally normal. It'll lower as the baby gets bigger.
