Buy him a cell phone. Don't worry, if this is your first baby, when the pains will start there will be plenty of time for your husband to come to you until you actually give birth. Discuss with your doctor and midwife about the whole process (how you should measure the time between contractions, how long you have till you go to the hospital, etc.)

Having back up is always good.
I once broke my arm while my husband was about an hour or two away. So I went and knocked on my neighbors/friends house, and just asked for a ride to the hospital - of course they were happy to help.
I guess my husband must have sped home after I called him, because he was in the hospital with me by the time they took the x-ray.

Is there a friend or family member you can call for back up in case your hubby can't get there in time? If not, then show the world and your new child just how strong a woman you can be! You can do this!

i was scared as well. my husband didnt go to many appointments with me because he was the only one working. well work was 2 1/2 hours away from the hospital. he'll find a way to make it there. just make sure he has a cell phone on hand at all times and answers it when you call. my husband got stopped by a cop and he told the cop what was going on. the cop just gave him a warning and let him go.

Chances are by tha when you do go into labor, yu will have plenty of time to get ahold of your husband. Most of the time it takes hours to labor and deliver. Relax.

Watch a DVD and take a nap. There is more to this question and you did not tell us where your husband is and what he does. Or you watch Judge shows. Animal planet-- Turner Classic Movies maybe a Jimmy Cagney and Barbara Stanwick movie might be on. When I eat ice cream--I always feel better..

Make him come home in case you go into labor early! It's his child, too!

WHY DONT YOU TELL THIS TO YOUR HUBBY,MAYBE HE HE CAN APPLY FOR LEAVE CLOSE TO THOSE DAYS WHEN YOU ARE EXPECTING..BUT ANYWAY IF HE IS NOT INA SITUATION TO BE WITH YOU ATLEAST ASK SOME OF YOUR CLOSE RELATIVE TO BE WITH YOU,ITS NOT DIFFICULT BEING ALONE WHEN GIVING CHILD BIRTH BCOS THEN I 'VE HEARD WOMEN HAVE MORE SELF-CONFIDENCE IN THEM WHEN THEY GIVE BIRTH TO A CHILD ALONE WITHOUT ANYBODY.

Stop worrying about your husband not being there when you go into labor and you won't go into labor prematurely due to anxiety.
Sorry... circular reasoning...
