We are currently trying to conceive, I am in my ovulation week right now. I think I have a yeast infection or some sort of infection because I have a slight fishy odor and a slight burning sensation. I don't know if this is from all the sex we have been having or a reaction to the lube pre-seed or maybe even my aloe toilet paper upsetting my system. In any case, I am ovulating soon will this prevent conception? Like make the environment more hostile and kill the sperm or keep me from ovulating even? Or are we ok and just keep trying?

Yes it was a false positive unfortunately =(
I will swear off blue dye pregnancy for life they gave me a lot of false positives as well as my husband when I had him take one! So stay away from those.......and good luck.

And to the person who suggested chlomedia; my husband is very very faithful to me he would never cheat on me. A woman can get an infection without her husband cheating....thanks for your help.....but no thanks.

The infection could be Bacterial Vaginosis...it's very common in women who's pH balances are off...it can be from having alot of sex. The symptoms are alot like a yeast infection. But, it's definitely something you'd want to get cured. They sell this over the counter stuff called RePhresh..it's suppose to help and possibly get rid of it. If not, the doc will give you something to help get rid of it. It's not a STD, it's just a common thing some women are more prone to getting.

It's hard to say if this infection will interfere with you TTC. I wouldn't think it would, but there's a possiblity. But, I'd get your infection taken care of first.

It can be very frustrating to not know what is going on and you are continuously sick and you believe that things should work better. It sounds like your girl does have a yeast infection and this needs to be fixed separate to the conception problem. Some areas to look into to try and cure the reoccurrence of the infection. A yeast infection can be passed between partners so it would be wise that both of you get treated you may be carrying a yeast infection and not showing symptoms and then reinfecting your girl which is possible. Yeast infections like damp moist areas and it is advisable that your girl washes after sex. There is a fluid that is present and depending on the girl will last longer or shorter amounts of time if you have sex while this fluid is present the sperm are able to swim up through the vagina and conception is then possible. Sleep curled up wont help the sperm reach the egg. Washing after woulds wont stop you falling pregnant and sleeping in the curled up position wont help either. Diet can also add to the susceptibility of a yeast infection. If you are both eating a lot of sugar this will give the candida bacteria more food to live on and a higher risk of return so try a different diet which will help in the long term solution of keeping thrush away. Other things that can lead to more likely hood of thrush is tight clothing especially synthetic. Medication is good to take to get rid of it but there is normally a root problem to thrush and this needs to be solved to allow your girl to be healthy

hi!

we are facing the same problem!!!! but I had already ovulated!..
I got the infection during that day! can you imagine that?...
I really read a lot and honestly there will be no problem!... I took vaginal medication and today I feel better... the treatment can be occurred also in pregnancy...
the only problem is, that the sperm will find it more difficult to swim at the vagina with yeast infection but this doesn't mean they cannot reach their goal!
be positive!...
if you do not want to take medication , you can eat a lot of yogurt and dush the area with camomile tea...
during sex try to have orgasm!..it will push the sperm further and actually it brings "good water" for sperm!
I wish you good luck!

I was you I would go see my doctor and explain the situation with the fishy odor and the slightly burning sensation. Have them check it out. Because if it is what I think is not good to conceive, and if you do conceive it is not good through the pregnancy. I think it is Claumidia it is a STD. You need to be more carefull. Claumidia you can't get it from having too much sex but you can get it from other partners. Hopefully he is faithfull to you. I am not trying to put anything in your head but i am been honest. I had that experience with Claumidia from my first pregnancy and yes he was cheating on my with someone else and she had it and he passed it on to me, so I left him. They put me on medication because it can cause alot of problems durning pregnancy and through child birth. They have to catch it on time to treat it.

Good Luck!!!

It is always better to treat these kinds of infectio bcos yor partner may also get it from you if you dont treat it.Morever it is some form of bad bacteria in your body and why do you want to leave it as it is.Drink lots of water and pee often to flush out bacteria ,dont keep it in your body.First go to a doctor.

Chat with your doc, or do some research on taking probiotic supplements. The alternative med section here is good for questions.
