You should never do any vigorous exercise in pregnancy! Walking is your best bet and plenty of sex as sperm can help to soften the cervix and bring on contractions. But at the end of the day nothing will work unless your baby is ready to be born, it will only help it along if your are going to go into labour soon anyway.
Good luck not much longer to wait now x

At 40 weeks I wouldn't try anything too vigorous. I'm sure you're miserable and ready to have the baby but just relax and let nature take it's course. Continue to walk (up/down stairs is always good) - the baby will come when it's ready. Congratulations and good luck!

Stairs! Walking is good, but if you can walk up and down staris it really gets things going.
Tumeric (the yellow powder that is in curry) is supposed to work, but Indian women in India eat it almost every day (and some eat extra when they are preg b/c they think it will make their baby's skin whiter)... and it doesn't seem to cause anything to happen... Parsley, Thyme & Sage are supposed to work... Eat some eggplant parmasean and add some extra of those spices to the tomato sauce :) Good Luck!

I was a week overdue, tried everything, walked for what felt like miles with no luck! Even tried bribing the baby, told him what kind of gifts I'll buy him if he'll just get a move on! lol! Good luck, hope something will happen soon!

I would just try to have a walk a day and let gravity take its course.
Also sit on a gym ball with your legs apart and gently rock, this also helps gravity and ensures the baby is in a good position

You could try a good aerobic workout or swimming.
Have you tried supplementing with Red Raspberry Leaf caplets?

well my coach and her husband went for a jog to induce labour. it worked. My grandma drank castor oil to induce her labour. she was sick of being pregnant. anyways she ended up bringing my dad into the world 6 weeks prematurely.
