i'm 18 weeks and 5 days... still stretch mark-free, BUT i know how much growing my belly will be doing in the next couple months... today i'm buying a bathing suit (because it is FREAKING hot!) and debating on whether or not i should get a bikini... seems like the logical choice, but definitely not if i'm going to get all marked up this summer, you know? so i guess really my question is what kind of bathing suit should i get...? and if i get a bikini, will Vitamin E oil and Vitamin E lotion keep the purple nasties away?? please help... merci, beaucoup!

There seems to be a trend lately that both the woman and a man in a couple will say "we're pregnant" when referring to the pregnancy. I suppose this is the way of sharing responsibility for the pregnancy, but it sounds ridiculous to me, and degrading to both partners. Every time I hear a guy say this I want to yell at him..."you're a man, not a seahorse! You will never be pregnant!!!" Don't get me wrong, I'm the kind of dad who does dishes, changes diapers, and feel that all other aspects of parenting are a shared responsibility, but I will never actually carry a baby due to not having a uterus. I feel this statement actually lessens the importance of the woman's unique, important, and difficult role of carrying a baby. I spent countless hours rubbing her feet, but never took credit for carrying our son.

I have a two and a half year old daughter and she throws tantrums when we go out in public if she doesn't get what she wants. I know how we raised her up to now has something to do with it but at the moment she is throwing a fit, do you:
1) pick her up and leave -she cries lowder
2) do you try to reason with her - she say's no
3) do you get your tone of voice change to-being upset

suggestions?

Im a 23 year old single female with no children. I have recently been diagnosed with a blocked fallopian tube. I have always wanted children. The doctors keep stepping around the question when I ask them if I can still have children. So, unfortunatly, I turned to the internet for answers, and it doenst look good. Apparantly, if one is messed up, the the other one probably is too, giving me about a 10% chance. Im an only child, and the thought of not being able to give my parents grandchildren is just unbearable. So basically, I really need to hear some positive personal experiences with situations like this. Anyone been told they couldnt have children for reasons like this and had them anyway? I would love to hear some. All of these stupid doctors have avoided the issue because they believe a 23 year old unmarried woman has no business thinking about children. The curse of the bible belt I guess. So, anyway, please just give me some good news for once, cuz i feel pretty hopeless.

I have an 11 month old who wants me to hold her and carry her around with me all the time, I wouldn't really mind except that I can't seem to get any house work done unless i put her down and let her cry which I hate and I can't carry her around because she weighs almost 30 lbs already. She probably wieghs so much because I'm sitting and nursing her all the time! lol

My doctor has talked to me about induction at 37 weeks because of my fainting spells so far my answer has been no because I am afraid it will turn out like the induction with my first child lasting over 25 hours and I am afraid the due date maybe incorrect and the baby might come early but she has told me because of the early ultrasound at 12 weeks that is very doubtful! but yesterday I had a scare, my husband had found me face down on the bathroom floor breathing rapidly but not responding for about 4 minutes so he called for help and i was taking by ambulance to the closest hospital my family and children where all very upset, they checked to make sure the baby was ok, baby is fine other then low blood pressure and needing oxygen for a few hours I am fine I guess what I am asking is are fainting spells a good reason to induce so early?

do you think i should take away my son's pacifier after he learnes to control his hands and use them for comfort? ( he's only 2 months). Or should i take it away now? He'll be napping and wake up wanting it.. it falls out when he's half asleep and it dont bother him.. but when he wakes up before naptime is over, he wants it back to soothe himself back to sleep.. Is it becoming a prop and a sleep associatioin? What should i do?

I need help deciding which breast pump to go with. I don't have a whole lot to spend and was looking at the ones that run around $50.

Are the electric (single) ones in this price range any good?

What about the manual ones? How do the manual ones feel on the hands? I suppose I"m afraid that my hands will become extremely sore (I think I have mild arthritis).

I will be pumping a couple times a day mostly just so I can have milk stored in the freezer for the hubby to feed and for daycare.

Any advice would be great.

I know the moon has an affect on women (and water) but I've heard that more women go into labour on or around a full moon - or at least their waters break and labour has to be induced (only full term women I think). Does anyone know if thats true? I think I'm just clinging to straws here but I'm due tomorro and theres a full moon tonight so I guess I'm just hoping I wont go too far overdue.

My father asked me yesterday if I would allow him to adopt my son. He said it's for his financial well-being. He would receive a SSI check for almost one thousand dollars and a check from the military plus his college tuition would be paid, and he would receive a check for going to college. My thing is .... what if I make a decision, and they (my parents) go against it, and tell my son something entirely different, KNOWING that I told him not to do something? I know that I would have given up my parental rights, but this is only for his financial well-being. (I am pregnant w/ my 2nd child, and my son is a teenager) What would you do in this situation? Serious answers only. (I am thinking hard and strong about this, because I don't want to make the wrong decision.)
