I am 28 weeks and having a lot of braxton hicks ( I think). They don't go around my entire stomache just at the bottom. Has anyone experienced this?

Yes, it could be either BH or ligament stretching. BH usually happen around the entire uterus, but it can happen only on one side, as well. It's normal. :)

EDITED TO ADD:

It's not too early for BH, some people get them early. MIne started at 24 weeks.

I did with my third the worst, he was a bigger baby then the other two. In retrospect I think it was round ligament now, my braxton hicks didn't start til the last month or close to it. Everyone is different though, knowing how "real" contractions are they are in the entire uterus, which would tighten up the whole area top to bottom. You should be at the point where if you measured from your pubic bone to the top of your uterus (you can feel it when you lay down...sometimes see it) it will measure out in centimeters, usually correlating with your week...so you'd measure 28 centimeters. Maybe that will give you a little more insight on to where you'd feel the uterus tighten for the braxton hicks, since the whole uterus would be ("excersing") Everyones different :) Hope that helps some...maybe you have a big little guy who keeps his rearend toward the front....lol. Congratulations and as you know if they get worse, increase in intensity call your doc. I've delivered several babies on the catching end, and had three myself so I hope this eases your mind some.

I'm 28 weeks as well w/2nd pregnancy. it really sounds like your muscles stretching, and just pressure from baby growing. I get the same thing. when You have a BH, your whole tummy will feel like there is a basket ball in there. and it's not supposed to be painful. if it's a feeling like that, and painful, those could be contractions. and you would need to talk to your doc. if your still not sure if those are BH, you need to make sure your not having more than lik 6 of those in an hour. if you do, call your doc. drink some water, and lay down. being dehydrated can cause braxton hicks, try that out. I hope this helps.

Braxton hicks will be a tight feeling. A round ligament pain is usually on one side and it will be a sudden, sharp pain.

Is it a tightening of the muscles or is it a dull aching pain or a sharp pain in one area? A tightening of the muscles would be braxton hicks and their normal. If its a dull ache or a sharp pain in one side its ligament pains.

Sounds like round ligament, more than BH

It sounds a bit early for Braxton Hicks. I know with one of my pregnancies, I had an awful time just because of the skin and muscles stretching. It did stop after a while though. I used a lot of moisturizer on my belly. But if these are true pains please see your OB.
