Its funny because your parents probably thought the very same thing. Regarding drugs, what makes you think kids today are less likely to stop? Thats exactly what your parents thought of you. The point is, young and dumb as we are, we all eventually mature, and realize the drugs aren't worth it. We'll stop drugs, just like you guys once did. Really, besides from the media, today's society is being ruined by the government leaders, who are hellbound for war. I'm going to turn 18 in a month. I've been through 11 years of private school; I'm going to a college-prep school and have worked my a$s off. I'm not going to waste all of that to go fight. I'm an intellectual kid, not a physical. Really, the lack of peace today is causing the biggest problems. We today aren't that much different at all (problem is, today I can't go see The Doors live. wish i lived in the 60's)

I am 22 and I have a 4 month old daughter and I am already scared to death about raising her in this crazy world. I dont know what to do about Gun Control. I dont allow guns in my home. My hubby has a few hunting rifles but they stay at his dads(locked up). My cousins son got beat up by 4 kids and hes only 7. There were no teachers around. Drugs are bad. My neighbor got busted for a meth lab and I didnt even know it. The school system is a joke and I want my daughter to have a normal life but if it keeps going like it is I will homeschool. I watched montel this morning and it was on survivors of the school shootings. Parents are bad about not caring that there child is the bully. Kids pick on each other and me as a parent. I have to teach her that picking on people is wrong.

I agree on the spell-check, first of all.
I agree with you about your concerns regarding the present and future state of our society. I can't help but wonder if the condition of society is like a pendulum... it swings as far as it can one way, before swinging the other direction. Things have gotten pretty terrible is some ways in recent years. I think that now is a time for change, and so I am optimistic that things will begin to head in a better direction soon. I will be the first to say that parents today need to step up and take responsibility for themselves and for their children. It all starts at home, and I think people today have forgotten that.

What the hell is the question! Why don't you stop bi*ching at people and look at yourself. People like you need to stop judgeing others and worry about themselfs. I dont know what kind of parants you met most of us are good parents. If what you said was ever true they would be a lot more violance then there is now. So chill out drama queen.

I TOTALLY AGREE! A lot of parents these days JUST DON'T CARE! If we keep it up, America is going to turn into a hellhole. Sure, the generation before us did all the drugs, but they didn't know they were THAT bad for you! And today, people are doing drugs because it's "cool" and they know it is unhealthy for them.

what are you talking about?! First off, you need to know how to spell. Using proper grammar can be a good start to your kids having proper speech okay! Also, don't you think that we are doing all we can to help kids out? I don't know who you're preaching too, but I help donate to numerous charity organizations, spend every waking moment with my kids, teach them how to act in public, and help them do their homework. WHAT ARE YOU DOING, INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING ABOUT IT ON YAHOO ANSWERS! Get out in the world and help already!!!!

One of the first steps, it seems to me, would be to learn how to spell. Don't you think knowing how to communicate properly is vital to anyone's success in life?

i agree....i worry about the direction our world and society is going in...i hate this "do whatever you want", "who am I to tell you what to do" attitude....adults, parents, do know better, they just don't want to get involved...it might not be politically correct...we are trying to please all the people all the time...
