No they can not force an abortion and a doctor would need your consent to do the procedure. The babies father has nothing to worry about only 18, the young woman 16 ,age of consent in almost all states. States will be more interested in insuring the father pays child support and if you wish as a couple to help you with parenting skills, etc.

NO, your parents cannot force you into an abortion. However, they don't have to support your baby once it is born. So you might want to think about adoption since at 16 it is nearly impossible to make enough money to support a baby on your own.

As far as your boyfriend, that depends on what state you live in. Look up consent laws in your state. I know that in a lot of states, the age of consent is 16 now. My sister got pregnant at 16 and my parents could not press charges on her 18 year old boyfriend. That was in Michigan. So you need to find the laws for your individual state.

By law you can not force someone into abortion, they had a story like this on the news last year about a woman who dragged her teen daughter down to a clinic and tried to make her have an abortion and she ended up getting into alot of trouble for it.

Yes a 18 year old can get in trouble for sleeping with a 16 year old, that is considered staturatory (sp?) rape and holds a 5-15 year jail sentence with it along with having to register as a sex offender once released from prison.

I have cops in my family plus my sister just had this problem, minus the pregnancy. She is 16 and had sex with a 18 year old and he was arrested and is being charged for sleeping with her.

Not sure if they can force you to have an abortion if so that is really wrong.
About the 16/18 thing it depends which state you are in. Example: I live in Oklahoma and the age of consent is 16 so no they couldn't put him in jail. However, if your state's age of consent is 17 or 18 then yeah they could.

Yes the parent can force there child to have an abortion because the child is still a minor and in the legal custody of the parent, and the parent can also put the baby daddy in jail because legally it is statutory rape, and he can get time for that. Now if I were the child I would beg my parents not to do that but in the end its up to the parents.

most states if she was 16 when conceived, then there isn't much a mom can do, but if they were 15, they can have the boy charged with statutory rape, and then he would have to register as a sex offender the rest of his life, it would ruin him, and absolutely not, she can not force an abortion, the doctors need the girls consent, if it is a issue, call planned parenthood, or a pro life group, they will help you, no one can force an abortion on anyone ever

Well it depends on what state ur in like here in Texas if the underage person ebgaged in the act with a person 3 years thier senior then the law can do nothong. In your case your daughter would have to be dealing with someone over 19 for it to be a legal matter. So you might just want to check with your local law inforcement.

I believe they have the right to press charges against the 18 year old father, but I don't think they can force their daughter to have an abortion.
