Pregnancy & Parenting - 14 February 2007

Here's the scoop. I saw my doctor once, who took his hand and measured where my uterus was, putting me at 7 weeks at the time. I am now '10' weeks if he is accurate( no sonogram done yet). But I'm huge! When ppl on the street look at me, they assume I'm about 5 months pregnant. This is my second pregnancy, and I know some mothers show earlier after the first pregnancy, but this is RIDICULOUS! I had sex with my army bound husband back in Oct, and then when he came home for the holidays Dec 20th. By the way, I took a preg test in Dec that came back negative.

Is it possible for me to only be 10 weeks and look MUCH further along? Or is the doctor's "estimated guess" wrong?

I am asking for a DNA test to prove it but she won't agree. We have been together a few weeks so there is a chanch her exboyfriend could be the father. I will support the baby if it is mine--I just want to know for sure. Any advice??

my gf & i were messing around like 2 weeks ago. we kinda got in the position of having sex. i was almost going to put it in her but then she stopped me. I dont know if she felt me cumming and at that time i wasnt wearing protection. Then yesterday and today, she was asking me questions about that day. She told me that she was scared that she might have felt me cumming & I dont know if it went in her. She was supposed to get her period today but nothing has happened yet. So what i wanted to ask was what do you think i should do?

i still dream of having a little girl! i had my son a couple yrs ago and the whole time i was pregnet i always wanted a girl and to be real honest i was disappionted when they said it's a boy!i wasent eager to go buy boys clothes when all i dreamed of was cute little dresses,amd girly stuff!NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG!my son was born and i fell in love w/ him!but sometimes i see moms w/ there little girls and part of me is envious because i really want a daughter!i know that sounds horrible!!am i wrong?my hubby says all we will ever have is boys so im wasting my time wanting to ever try for a girl!!! does anyone out there know how i feel???does this make me a horrible mother????

I had 2 boys and things were fine. Boy#2 was mommy's baby and he knew it. I never intentially babied him, but I caught myself doing this quite often. Well, things have *changed* When #2 was almost 2 yrs. old I found out that I was expecting again...suprise! Well, needless to say he didn't take it very well when his sister decided that she was going to stick around. Now, although I can't leave him in a room alone with her, I understand that he is going through the whole "middle child" syndrom thing. He has regressed terribaly; he wants to talk like a baby, he stopped doing thing independantly (dressing himself & brushing his teeth to name a few), but my biggest problem is the fact that he refuses to potty train. The boy will be 4 very soon. He is O.K. with urinating- he has accidents...which is laziness, because he just won't stop playing or watching T.V. to bother. But the boy will NOT have a bowel movement on the potty. He has held it for 2 days! How do I approach this?

I have an appointment with my doctor at the end of the week, but in the meantime I would like to get some opinions on this before hand. For the last couple of days I have been waiting to see when I would be ovulating it is now coming to the end of my cycle and all the opk's have come back negative. I thought I ovulated later in my cycle. For the last few days I have been extremely fatigued, there are very visible blue veins on my chest and my nipples are super sensitive. I have been getting headaches everyday. This is not me getting my hopes up for pregnancy because me and my husband are newlyweds and just started trying. I haven't been on birth control in quite some time (about 2 years) anyone have ideas as to what could be going on

My friend became pregnant 5 weeks after I did. She was very jealous when I told her I was pregnant because she wanted to be pregnant too.

I announced to our friends that I am pregnant today. She already told them she was pregnant as soon as she found out, so they have known for weeks.

When I told them I was 13 weeks pregnant, she said, "No, you are not 13 weeks, you are 13 weeks TOMORROW."

Seriously, isn't 12 weeks, 6 and a half days pretty much 13 weeks?

Is she just jealous that I am 13 weeks and she is 8 weeks? Why would she make sure all our friends know I am not 13 weeks today???

My best friend is acting like a total whore. she throws herself at guys. even the 1's she dosen't like. If she knows i like a guy she will tell me that she would never like them cuz she dosen't want to hurt me but then the next day she is making out with him in the halls.She has been pregnant 2wice and miscarried both times. She goes out with guys that are between 21-27 and she is only 15!!!!!!! Help! What do i do???

He was taking prednisone and other medicines in the past. He used to take medicines for asthma from childhood. i dont know the name of that medicines. we are trying for a child. Is there any possibility that these medications can cause any adverse effect on his fertility?

Has anyone ever heard of the vitamin St. Johns Wort to help with trying to conceive?? I was talking to my mom earlier and she said that an ex g/f of my uncle was trying to get pregnant a few years back. trying for 12 years I guess! Well she took St. Johns wort to help and she got pregnant 3 months later! Has anyone else heard of this at all?? I know it is supposed to help with mood disorders and stuff but with conceiving? Do you think that it was just a coincedence or if the vitamin actually helped her?? Thanks!!

I never really wanted kids, I am very career orientated and just wanted to focus on my career and thought maybe one day I would adopt. Now I have found myself 13 weeks pregnant and I am still with the father who is very excited, but I am having issues with this child and it isn't even born yet. I feel a lot of resentment and anger I know this isn't the child's fault, but if I could I would seriously give this child up for adoption. Abortion was NEVER an option. I won't even touch my tummy and I won't tell anyone about my pregnancy. When people talk to me about it I change the subject quickly in hopes they will just let it go. How can I get over this type of feeling I am having. I know this makes me sound like a horrible person but some people carry the maternal gene while others don't and I suppose I am one of the ones who doesn't.

My son, who just turned two, wakes up every morning with a totally full diaper. Most days, he pees so much that the diaper overflows and his pajamas get wet. We have tried diaper doublers (inserted in the diaper to increase absorbency), and multiple brands of diapers. Nothing seems to work. Ideas on how to fix this problem? Is this normal? If not, should I be worried?

Some "People" acts like it is wrong for a kid to play with a toy gun and that it promotes violence so i am asking when you were a little kid (male or female) did you grow up to be a violent person and kill people?
(I played with toy guns when i was little and i am a non-violent person that has never ever been in trouble)

I love my baby (am now 22 weeks pregnant) and want him so bad. With my daughter I had problems bonding during pregnancy due certain stresses. This time I am bonding more (I think that knowing what to expect with a second child is part of that)... but it feels wrong. I love it when he kicks.. but to have another person inside of me feels sick somehow. And to think of nursing him (which I alwasy do with my kids) seem wrong somehow... it all seems perverted somehow... to intimate. What the heck is wrong with me? This is my baby! Why do I feel like this?

My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years. I am finishing up college and about to start grad school and he has a great job.

After seeing a commercial with toddlers running around we got to talking. Although both of us would ideally like children in the future at some point, the thought of being a parent right now is depressing. We do what we want when we want to. We spend our money on things that we want. I feel like its selfish but I can't imagine taking care of a teething baby or being responsible for the life of another human being.

Does this make us bad people? I feel like its selfish to not want children. I'm married, mid 20's, aren't I Supposed to want children??

I'm worried b/c I'd like to have a child one day. Will my thoughts and feelings change? When I'm finished with grad school will I be ready? Will I EVER be ready to be a mother, to devote my life to a child? I feel so horrible!! Help!!
