DO NOT REPEAT! some has entered the blood stream. Call the Doctor on call now and ask. They may tell you to wait the entire time or give a little. Just keep the baby cool, and give him/her sips of water. good luck...now go call!!!!

Never give a child an immediate dose after throwing it up. You don't know for sure how much the child actually ingested. I would wait at least 4 hours. If the child has a high fever and it needs to be dealt with immediatley, then call the doc and ask what they recommend. Children can withstand fevers to a certain extent. They are just usually pretty miserable and you run the risk of them getting a febrile seizure. So.....it's always best to call the doc in this instance. To answer the second question, you would give them the recommended amount according to their weight. No more and no less.

Hi Runs w/k, there is a product availible from the all night drug store which will control the vomiting. It's an anti-nausea called Emitrol. It really works. then u can give him the fever reducer. UR Health care provider or Emergency room can Rx a suppository, usu. Tigan for the fever and Donnatol (oral)for the nausea. I m sure you know about the B.R.A.T diet? bananas, rice, applesauce, & toast? Ya gotta lay off the water for awhle if they have the stomach flu. Just start with tspful at a time in between the emitrol until it stops. Ice chips also work. U can also try hot jello, again by the tspful. Have FUn.

I wait an hour or so to see if it works. They may look like they throw up everything but most of the time they don't. Just wait to see if it brings the fever down in about an hour. If not, then give half a dose. Tylenol is not something that you want to overdose on. Hope they feel better.

If the child threw up immediately, I would give the full recommended dose again as soon as possible. If they were able to keep it down any amount of time, I would call the pediatrician and ask them. Did the emesis look like most of the medicine came back up? If so, probably safe to give it again. If this is an infant, I would definitely get the doctor on the phone.

You need to call your doc. When this happened to my son with antibiotics they told me not to give another dose for 4 hours. You definately don't want to give more acetaminophen because it can cause liver damage. Ask your doc about giving Motrin. It's best to alternate between the two.

I would wait the same amount of time as instructed. And no food...the child is throwing up for crying out loud. Lots of liquids though. And if it were me would have been on the phone to the doctor by now.
