The normal body temperature varies from person to person between 98.4 Deg F to 99.5 Deg F. An increase of 2-4 Deg F in temperature is considered as fever. Very high fever (more than 107 Deg F) is considered dangerous. More information at http://ailments.in/fever.html

Congratulation on your first child to be. Now the temp is not to bad. Your wife's body is just gearing up for the part of labor. or a minor illness. But if it gets to 103 I would go in A.S.A.P that's where things could go wrong. My Fiancee just went through child birth with blood pressure that was outrageous 160 over 110 and the baby came out fine.

She probably should take some Tylenol to bring the fever down; having a high fever for a prolonged period of time can cause harm to the baby. Just tell her to take it easy and drink lots of fluids.

If it gets any higher, call the doctor again. If he still says it's Ok, ask him when it would be considered a health risk.
You should call your doctor with any and all concerns you may have.
