I am an ob/gyn --- the safest period to get an abortion is in the first trimester (the first 13 weeks). It is possible to get an abortion in the second trimester, till roughly 22 weeks. But the farther along you get, the more complicated and riskier a surgical procedure it becomes. There are fewer doctors who perform second trimester abortions. If your girlfriend is that far along, make sure to find an experienced doctor in this procedure (the more experience the doctor has, the safer it will be). If your girlfriend truly wants to terminate her pregnancy, have her see a doctor asap! Best of luck with this truly difficult decision....

Many of the problems you may be facing could be just the tip of the iceberg on what is really happening in your marriage. I dont mean to scare you but many problems when they either first show up or if they keep reoccurring could be just whats showing from a larger problem that either you or your spouse cannot even see. One of the only things you can do to help is to talk honestly and openly with each other in the marriage. If things become more serious more serious options need to be looked at as possibilities. I have a blog that has more information on some of what I've been writing about. If you feel like checking it out I would completly suggest it. Read here https://tr.im/uE3vQ
Love is a choice that is made everyday when you wake up and every night when you go to sleep. Some days you may not feel the original feeling but love isnt a feeling or an emotion. Its an action a verb. Falling out of love may just mean you need to spice things up a little or that you were never in love in the first place. Don't just get out of a marriage just because you don't think you like the person anymore.

Most states work within the 12 weeks and under guideline. It's easier and better for the mom if it's preformed 12 weeks along or under.
above the 12 week mark very few doctors will preformit unless the others life is in danger. here in nj docs will not do beyond the 12 week mark- patients are told to go out of state. I guess they go to ny, pa- i dont know of anywhere in nj tht does them beyond 12 weeks. guess you'd better call a planned parenthood location of ask the doc if will do it and if not where you could go. if nothing else and cannot get it done- place for adoptio since it apperas you nor she want to keep it.

oh goodness lol. abortion is actualy less harm on the body then pregnancy and child birth.
after the 16th week an abortion is concidered to have more risks. But there have been way more woman who have an abortion after the 16th week and be totally fine and still be healthy and have future pregnancies then there are woman who have any complications.
In the US. abortion is performed anytime befor the 24th week. after the 24th week it is illegal unless needed for medical reasons. but every state is different. you can look up abortion laws where you live in a search engine.

Well I will say that if you didn't want a child you should have used protection or just whacked off and saved her the trouble. But as for abortion you will wonder for the rest of your life what if. And there are also problems that come with abortions the man doesn't have to deal with. The woman has to deal with the depression and all the side affects and the fear that everyone around her is laughing at her. These are just a few problems that arise from abortion. That's why my father said if you don't want kids keep it in your pants!!!!

Have your girlfriend talk to a doctor. If she can't see her regular doctor (for financial or privacy reasons), contact Planned Parenthood and they should be able to give her more information and a free clinic. The exact safe time will depend upon complicated medical factors which cannot be answered abstractly. In the end, she needs to make the decision with her doctor that they agree is best--your input is minor and should be to back up whatever decision she makes.

I hope you guys consider adoption for the baby... abortion can be traumatic mentally, physically and emotionally.
Consider adoption and give someone who wants a child the gift of being parents! Its something you won't ever regret.

Early-term surgical abortion is a simple procedure. When performed before the 16th week by competent doctors — or, in some states, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and physician assistants — it is safer than childbirth.
