I am not making my son's coloration up. Both my husbands and my coloration extends for atleast four generations. I am talking aunts, uncles, grampas, granmdas, moms, dad's, sounds crazy I know. But we all have blonde hair, blue eyes, and tan skin. We juat aren't sure about his great grandma on his fathers side, she might have brown eyes. I haven't made my son to be somthing he isn't.

Well, you can't take for granted what your child will look like. He may have dark hair and brown eyes. Even if you and your bf/hub are blond and blue. It's called recessive genes. And also, what if he doesn't tan well...just kinda turns red and burns? You can't place expectations on your child. They are who they are. You sound very young and immature just from the few short sentences that you've put down. Well, when I hear Van...I think of a vehicle. That is what most children would think also. Please, name your child something that they can be proud of when they get older....not what you think will be cool when they are babies because that quickly changes.... Think of your child. A child is not a pet or an accessory.

I don't like it. But thats just me personally - in my mind it doesn't suit the Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes, Tan Skin. I know alot of guys named Van - they are all vietnamese.

I have a question.. how do you know that he is blonde hair, blue eyes and tan skin..if he is not born yet? It says you are naming your son. Just a question.. I do like the name though. Ever seen the show Reba.. Van was the son in law.. but they made him out to be the goofy guy.

If you, or if your son's father, is of Vietnamese background, I think it's fine. Otherwise, no. Van is a Vietnamese name. Apparently it's a "unisex" name too, because I've known both females and males with that name. But I would definitely not give a Caucasian boy a Vietnamese name, there's just something about doing that which doesn't jive.

Van by itself NO! Van what??? Van Houston, Vanderbolt, etc for a middle name or something cool that you can add as an extention name cool! Then you can call him Van for short! Yet van by itself NO! Not cool!

I like it. I like names that are different and unique, without them being TOO nutty. Van is a really cool name. And it DOES remind me of a blue-eyed, tan-skinned boy...maybe a surfer boy or an artsy boy...anyway, someone who is creative and independent for sure.
