After I gave birth (awhile back), I didn't receive any flowers or gifts. Just 1 card from my mom and sisters and congratulation emails from my in-laws and my cousins.
But whenever someone gives birth in the family, I go out of my way and get them something nice.
Am I selfish for feeling this way?

i know to bring a bag of stuff to do with them - i was thinking a Lizzie McGuire game what else??

I want to breastfeed my son when he is born. I wasn't able to breastfeed my daughter because of so many complications but I really don't know anything about it. I'm looking for a book that talks about everything regarding breastmilk from breastfeeding to storage of the milk to how to heat it and everything. Anyone know?

I have been seaperated from my exhusband who had an affair for 2yrs. we have been divorced for 8months I have been dating this wonderful man over the last 15months and my ex husband and children a relentelss about it. My exhusband says inappropriate things about the man I have been dating and the kids agree with him . They make it misearble when he is here which is not often at all. Tonight my son broke 5 roses from a bouquet that my boyfriend sent me out of spite. I am at my wits end. The sitation has gotten out of control I have taking therapists advice about how to handle the situation with the kids but becaause my exhusband is having difficulty with it he is making it next to impossible for the kids to be comfortable with it. My boyfriend vary rarly comes over for dinner with the kids in the last 15 months he has been over a hand ful of times which to me that is not alot. I jsut don't know what to do. I love this man I see a future with him however it is difficutl with the kids

My mother wants to cchange my middle name and will go through almost go through anything do get it donee. She is superstitious and believes in Hindu numerology. I grew up with my middle name and it's what everyone except my relatives call me. I can't not express how much this means to me.

i took a pregnancy test on jan,17th, 07. it was positive. started my period the next day. it lasted 1 week and was a normal period. told my doctor, she said if my period was late to take another test. but my period wasnt late, infact my period had ended on the 24th. 5 days later i started spotting. my docs only answer to me is to watch it and take some more pregnancy tests! im STILL spotting! ive taken 2 other pregnancy tests they both said negative. the spotting is extremly light but its definitly there. im just confused and im sick of wondering if i am or not. it sucks to wait and think you could be pregnant but not exactly knowing. and its harder to get a false + then a false - i thought that "spotting" happened when your period was supposed to come not 5 days after your period! but the doc just keeps telling me to monitor it and take a pregnancy test. im just so frustrated and confused!!!! ive been spotting for a little over a week now. is this normal? do you think im preggo????

I'm 30wks 3 days pregnant.

In this pregnancy i have craved different things - nothing abnormal though - normal food stuffs.

The last few days i have been craving beer. I wasn't a big drinker before i got pregnant, and i certainly never drank beer. I've always hated the stuff - always. And yet here i am at 30wk craving beer. Insane right?

Now, obviously i'm not going to indulge in drinking one but i was wondering if anyone knew what i could be lacking to make me crave beer. I know certain cravings can be caused by low iron levels or low calcium levels or whatever ... but i can't figure out what it is that beer might represent?

Any ideas?

I've had a baby before and my labor with my daughter I never got contractions every 2-3 minutes. My entire labor was like one huge contraction that just wouldn't go away and I felt it a lot in my back, well recently I've been feeling pain in my back similar to the ones that I had when I had my daughter. All I want to know is what are the chances of him surviving at this gestational age?

I have a family that would rather throw the childs toys away then have to teach them how to pick them up or take care of them. At this time the children have no toys in their rooms. All they have is a tv and a playstation. I am looking for websites with specifics on the importance of toys on child development and the negative effects of throwing the toys away. The children are 6months, 4yrs and 7 yrs. I am deeply disturbed by the fact that these children are very deprived and dont have to be.

OK I'VE HAD IRREGULAR PERIODS AND GOT ON BC TO REGULATE THEM WELL ONE DAY I STOPPED TAKING THEM AND HAD MY LAST PERIOD IN MAY. WELL GUESS WHAT I'M PREGNANT! I went to have a ULTRASOUND DONE IN NOVEMEBER and they told me I was 21 weeks and 1 day pregnant. Now I need 2 to kno do I start from tha day I was told I was 21 weeks and count back counting that week 2 see when I got pregnant or do I add 2 weeks to tha 21 due to tha last period 2 week theory. Let me know guys please answer only if u know for sure or think your response is pretty accurate. THANX GUYS!

Igot a "missed" miscarriage and very sad now. When i was pregnant i was not entirely happy about it but i grown to accept it and was looking forward to the baby. Now, my hopes and dreams are dashed. Wonder if this is a retribution.

a cousin of mine is a single parent and in college. After years of working two FT jobs to support her three kids with no support from their father, and no family help she decieded to work as an escort . While not condoning her choice of employment she has gotten off gov help, paid off her debt, gotten straight a's, bought her first home, and rasing her children in a better and safe neighborhood and provideing them all the opportunity they need in life to become good citizens. While doing this kind of work she has been the perfect mother a child can hope for and since she can set her own hours she is always there for her children. On the other hand no one knows of her secret life but I am scared it will come back to haunt her one day or bite her in the butt. Would you suggest she quit this type of employment even though it has provided her with better opportunites in life.

ok.. i just asked if it was ok to wipe down a used crib with rubbing alcohol. Now that I've read all the responses and decided that it would be ok, I went ahead and started doing it. However, while I was wiping down, the fumes were pretty strong. So now, I was wondering if anyone knows if it's ok for me to be doing this? Alright, thanks for the help.

Charles William often escapes from his room at night. It's becoming a S-L-I-G-H-T problem. He ransacks the house, knocking stuff over and banging on doors and such. Now I don't feel as if I should punish young Charles William because in the day he's a cutie pie but at night, a terror... He is 5. We tried locking his door but he broke the lock... We like longer first names. Our first 3 have 7+ letters in there first name. So I was trying to think of cutier longer names the only one's I can come up with are..Boy-Alexander and Christian and I really don't have any for a girl..So any input would be great..Thanks
