everytime i ask what people think of the name erica,erika people say "it reminds me of a stuck up snobby girl from the 80's"is this the stereotype they give people with this name? i have seen this happen a few times

I had a friend at school called Erica, she was very posh, but not stuck up, maybe it was a popular name in the 80's among people that were stuck up and snobby, so that could be a reason.

I don't think that when I hear the name Erica. I don't get why people would think that. It doesn't really sound like a snobby girl's name in the first place.

I think it's a very nice name and reminds me of a very nice person I know. I think that it is a great name. I don't know why people think a snobby girl from the 80's either.

I know or knew 2 Erica's and they were both nice. I never have had any problem with that name.
Sometimes people can just be so rude.

My daughter has a Erica in her class and she said she is nice. Cant tell if it is the name that makes the child bad or the child that makes the name bad. Use what name you would like. Good luck!

I never would think that stereotype about the name. I don't like the name, but that certainly isn't the reason. It doesn't sound snobby to me at all.

I think of parents who want to name the baby Eric, but when it's born, it's missing something to be an Eric, so they call her Erica.
