My mother wants to cchange my middle name and will go through almost go through anything do get it donee. She is superstitious and believes in Hindu numerology. I grew up with my middle name and it's what everyone except my relatives call me. I can't not express how much this means to me.

i'm not sure there's anything you can do. but you can continue using the same name and change it back when you're 18 if it means that much to you. go to the local courthouse and ask a clerk about your rights. also, a judge has to okay that kind of name change (at least in oregon i believe) so maybe you can get your opinion heard and they won't approve it. worth a shot?

Just explain to her how much you really don't want it changed. How all of our friends know you by your middle name, and remember this too, it's not like if you did have to change your name, your friends would have to stop calling you what they call you now. YOu could still be known as what you already are now to them.

If you are in the USA, she cannot legally change your name with out going to court.
YOU have rights, and if you tell the judge that this will ruin your life, they will and always side with the child.
your mom is going thru some nutty phase!
tell her if she changes your name, you just won't answer to that name.
tell her you are a good kid, and her belief's are fine, but they are not yours.
when you are 18 you can do what you want.
She cannot change your legal name w/o legal counsil and consent from children's court.
she is being absurd!
tell her what she is doing is illegal, and damaging you and it's child abuse! report her for child abuse!!

If you are not of legal age, never accept your new middle name and change it back when you turn 18. If you are 18 or older she can't make you do it.

If you're of age, she can't force you to change your name. If you're a minor, she probably can, but you may be able to express your opposition if it involves a legal proceeding. When you're of age, you can change it back. In the meantime, people can keep calling you whatever you and they agree on.

if you under the age of 12, there is not much legally you can do.
Just tell your mother that if she changes your name you will have to change it back when you turn 18. This may convince her that you are serious about it.

Why did she give you that middle name in the first place? Besides nobody really cares about your middle name. It's your first name you should worry about.

How old are you? If you are over 18 she can't do anything if you want to keep your middle name. Good luck. Sounds like your gonna need it.

I really don't think she can do it without your permission if you are 16 or older. Try to do some research about the laws in your state through the internet.
