Charles William often escapes from his room at night. It's becoming a S-L-I-G-H-T problem. He ransacks the house, knocking stuff over and banging on doors and such. Now I don't feel as if I should punish young Charles William because in the day he's a cutie pie but at night, a terror... He is 5. We tried locking his door but he broke the lock... I dunno what to do PLEASE give me advice I am married however my husband travels all the time and is never home so there is no manly guidance. Thanks for your time, best wishes to all who read this

Sounds like he's not tired and has a lot of energy to burn. I would try to keep him busy during the day or do something that would make him tired and ready to sleep at night.

Wow. Bless your heart. I see 2 things that might be going on. He is acting out in efforts to get attention. I understand that parents sometimes have to travel for work, but I think your son needs his fathers attention. Even if Dad isnt home all the time, his presence can still be felt from afar. Dad can talk on the phone, and you can talk about how disappointed dad would be if he saw how he was behaving. Time to take privileges. Explain that since he cant take care of his things and the family's things, they will be taken away until he can show he can take care of everyone's things. Toys, gone. TV, gone.
Also sounds like he isnt sleeping well, so he is getting up. Try getting him up early so he is more tired at the end of the day.
Good luck to you!!

Yes, he did! And the Hebrew, Jewish nation ones you are referring to, stayed in the OT. Have you ever asked yourself: Why did Jesus always refer to God as "His Father" as opposed to using the YHWH tetragrammaton? (which, by-the-way, has no place in the Greek NT) It's because when you bring the tetragrammaton into the NT, you obscure the identity of who Jesus Christ is. In the NT there is a change of covenants, and a fulfilling of OT promises. Now, instead of the blood of goats, and lambs, we approach to God by a new and living way. And that's why God puts such an emphasis on his Son for salvation. Now, they are called 'witnesses' for CHRIST. Mark 16:17;Acts 1:8. "This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Nether is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Acts 4:11-12. And that name is Jesus, not the tetragrammaton.

Although I am an avid believer in spankings, it won't work in this case. buy one of those metal child gates that are made for keeping toddlers out of areas (its slide-locks in the door way and has a swing door on it) you can usually find them at lowes. drill a hole just barely behind the latch-catch and put a pad lock on it. the lock must go in upside down so that the bigger part of the lock blocks the movement of the slide-lock this way the pad-lock will prevent him from being able to open the slide lock and he won't be able to break it because it is made mostly out of metal. the gate can easily be stepped over by an adult so there is no fire hazard.

It sounds like he's really trying to get your attention if he's breaking locks to get out. You didn't mention how old CW is, but if he's still napping during the day, it's probably time to cut out that nap. If he's old enough to talk to, ask him what's up the next time you catch him out after lights-out. Could be he's got the wiggles, has to pee, is still hungry...you might be able to find out and solve his problem.
Good luck--
