i plan to breastfeed! that is what i did with my 2 children! it is the healthiest, most natural, cheapest...not to mention it burns calories! but it;s always at the right temperature....you don't have to wait for a bottle to be ready.

I bottle fed both of my children and as of right now plan on doing the same with the baby I am expecting. To me I just never really had the desire to breastfeed even though I have heard all about the benefits. Plus by bottle feeding the hubby and family can help out. Yes it can be expensive but to me this was just the best choice. I dont think that a bottle fed baby has less of a bond to the mother as a breast fed baby, you bond regardless.

I had a breat reduction surgery about a decade ago, so I was never able to fully breastfeed either of my children due to milk duct damage. I did what I could for each of them, they got a couple of ounces of breast milk per day for about a month each before I completely dried up.
Formula today is better than ever, but still not the same as breast milk. All baby formula has to pass the same federal guidelines, so generic is just as good as name brand. The name brand stuff costs more because of all the advertising they do.

Personally i plan to breastfeed. I think this will strengthen the bond between myself and my child, and its something i can do SOLEY for my baby.
Not to say i'm against formula - indeed if something goes wrong and it turns out i can't breastfeed then i have no probs switching - but at the moment breastfeeding is my preferred option.

I formula fed because my mom couldn't breastfeed and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to either and I also thought I was going back to work and I didn't want to get attached to my daughter by breastfeeding and than have to try to wean both of us from it. I ended up being a stay at home mom and I regret not trying to breastfeed.

I plan to breastfeed, but if I have trouble with it, I'm not going to try to force it. I'll switch to formula in a heartbeat if my daughter isn't getting enough to eat. I've known enough women who were brow-beaten into breastfeeding by their doctors, but had trouble and were just miserable because of it. Not to mention had hungry, fussy babies.
The reason I plan to breastfeed is mostly for the health benefits to mom and baby. Plus, it saves a TON of money, which is always good!

I plan to breastfeed.
Breastfeeding is good for you, good for the baby, and it´s good to save money.
There are very few conditions in which a women cannot breastfeed, like tuberculosis, a previous reduction surgery, and women who are in chemotherapy, among others.
Breastfeeding lower your chances to get breast and ovarian cancer, it diminish the bleeding that comes after delivery, and gives you some protection against osteoporosis. Besides, it develops a great mother-baby relationship.
It´s good for the baby, because breast milk contains a lot of things that help the baby fight again infections (Like IgA, IgG, IgM, IgD), so they don´t get sick very often, and if they do, diarrhea, and upper respiratory tract infections are less severe. They get fewer ear infections and and develop less allergies. Breast milk contains every single thing they need for their first 6 months. Children who were breastfed have less incidence of obesity and diabetes when they´re older, and it helps to increase their IQ.
It helps to save money, you don´t need bottles, of if you´re working do not need as much as if you were using formula. Formula can get very expensive, particularly when the baby is growing (wich is quite important in my country). You don´t have to use water, or any special implements, and it´s friendly to the enviroment, it produces a lot less (if any) garbage.
So, if you don´t have any medically reasons thet might prevent you, give the best gift you can give to your child by breastfeeding him/her!!!!!

I have to bottle feed as my breasts do not produce milk. We found that out after I starved my 1st child for two weeks because I was so gung ho about breastfeeding. While I do believe breast is best, some of us just medically cannot do it.
there is such a thing as a new mother who does not have milk. I am proof of that, my doctor will happily back me up that my breasts are and always will be DRY. I am devastated about that, and really don;t need people trying to make me feel like a second class citizen simply because I cannot medically do something that i wanted to do with my entire heart body and soul. I do that well enough on my own.

Way to pull those fanatical breast feeders out of the woodwork.
I am 37 weeks - will give breast feeding a go but will probably end up bottle feeding as i feel that i will have more control over the whole process this way. I was bottle fed as were my sisters 3 children - all are healthy and happy.
I am not opposed to either - but i do find that some people go over the top when they speak of breast feeding like they have just undertaken 10 years of research personally and written a fking thesis..............they annoy me.

I am planning on bottle feeding this time around..with my first i bottle fed, with my second i breastfed...I find that breastfeeding is easier...I know breast milk is better for the baby but i have other children and work as does daddy and it is easier for us both to prepare the bottle when one of us has to be at work and watch the other children..I have done the breast pumping before but it doesnt work all that great...I mean i might change my mind later on but for now im sticking to bottle feeding, besides they have formulas out there that now have the contents that breast milk has =)

I used formula for many reasons...
1) I was uncomfortable with the idea of nursing
2) I wanted my husband to be able to feed our son
3) I have breast implants and that makes me nervous (I know according to studies it's safe...but I'm still nervous)
4) Convenience
Those are my top reasons...there are more but those are the main ones.
Ultimately you need to make an informed decision based on how YOU truly feel and what you think is best for you, your baby and your partner. Good luck!!
